Comparing Basic White and Whisper White

Since the pandemic permanently shut down a (vital to Stampin' Up) paper mill, Stampin' Up! had to contract with a new manufacturer for all their white paper products. I thought I'd do a little comparison of the old Whisper White and the new Basic White to give you an idea of what to expect.

First of all, let me say how difficult it is to photograph the subtle differences! Hoo-ee, what I can clearly see with my own two eyeballs sure didn't show as well in the photos! Whisper White was never a truly bright white, being slightly off-white as compared to Neenah Solar White or something similar. Basic White is definitely brighter. The texture of Basic White is very subtly less smooth that Whisper White, but it does not affect the way the ink adheres, or the blending of alcohol markers. That being said, I do notice that colors are a bit deeper on Basic White, whether stamping with a Classic Stampin' Pad, or using Stampin' Blends. (Just Jade and Magenta Madness used here.)

Anyhoo, I wanted to test drive the new Basic White and share the results. I think you'll be pleased, as I certainly am!
