CSF Saturday Hop - Trim it Down

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is Trim it Down - minimalist design, aka CAS (clean and simple). This is always a challenge for me because, like last week's theme, I lean toward more is more. So paring things down was a struggle!

A 1 1/4" strip of striped Melon Mambo DSP was adhered to the Bubble Bath card base, then a Stylish Shapes circle was adhered on top. I stuck with those two colors, but really wanted to add a third with some leaves, lol. (Chanting CAS, CAS, in my head.)

The blossom was inked in Melon Mambo with a sponge dauber and stamped off once to lighten the image. It was colored with the Light Bubble Bath Stampin' Blend and die cut with the matching die, then popped up on dimensionals.

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

Thursday Challenge - CSF824

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge are the colors Pool Party, Misty Moonlight, and Copper Clay. These are perfect colors for a masculine card, which always seems to be in short supply at my house.

Grassy Grove has great images and coordinating dies for a guy card. I stamped the background images in Copper Clay, then die cut the deer from Copper Clay cardstock. The darker deer was colored with the Light Copper Clay Stampin' Blend so it would stand out a little more.

THREE more die sets were used, as well! The greeting is from the Wanted to Say dies, and I darkened the Happy Birthday with the Light Pool Party Stampin' Blend so it would stand out more on the Pool Party mat. And behind the birthday greeting is a Misty Moonlight die cut from Nested Essentials. And behind THAT is the background cut with a Perennial Postage die.

Can you tell my SCEM* really gets a workout? 😄 Did you know that until the end of this month the SCEM and Mini SCEM are 10% off, as are all the stamp and die bundles?

CSF Saturday Hop - Over the Top

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is Over the Top - add some extras. This was a fun theme for me because I love "more is MORE" - more layers, more texture, more embellishments! I chose the Layers of Beauty stamp set because I wanted to play around with coloring the roses like the Peace Rose. Did you know it was first introduced in 1945, to commemorate the fall of Berlin to Allied forces, and the end of World War II?

I don't think I was able to capture their true beauty. The roses look like they are lit from within with a warm glow. I tried, though!

The Crumb Cake background and Basic White circles were embossed with the Distressed Tile folder, and a bit of Wildly Flowering DSP was torn and distressed for a shabby chic look. I used two greetings from Unbounded Love for the sentiment, added rhinestone "dew drops" and loops of Linen Thread to finish the card.

Thursday Challenge - CSF823

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge is a unique sketch! It's been soooo bloomin' HOT this week, that I can't help but think of cooler weather and the upcoming holidays. So I turned this into my first Christmas card of the year! Here's the sketch:

The So Very Merry stamp set had the perfect round images for this, and who would have thought that Summer Splash would be such a cool color?!

I used the Snowflake Sky embossing folder for the background (ahhhh, snow), and added snowflakes to the sky behind Santa with a white gel pen.

CSF Saturday Hop - Summertime Dream

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is anything to do with summer. For me summer means lots of fresh fruits and veggies from the garden! The veggies aren't ready yet, but the berries sure are coming in strong! We have raspberries and blueberries growing and just this week picked our first berries.

I love that this card can be used for just about anyone. The Blueberry Bunches set (Online Exclusive) has some great sentiments, as well as the luscious berries to savor. They sure are fun to color - today I used Boho Blue and Granny Apple Green.

The card base was stamped with the larger branch of berries using Smoky Slate stamped off twice. Then Clear Wink of Stella was tapped all over to create the spatters so I didn't need to add any embellishments. The greeting was heat embossed on Blueberry Bushel cardstock and die cut with Nested Essentials. The smaller berry cluster was stamped with Memento and colored, then fussy cut.
