Wake Up. Kick Butt. Repeat.

Heart's Delight Cards, Enjoy Life, Playful Backgrounds, Stampin' Up!

That is one of the greetings in the Enjoy Life stamp set, and it is perfect for any go-getter in your life! My go-getter is my daughter, who is two classes shy of attaining her second Master's Degree (this time in Math), who will be teaching AP Statistics at her high school next fall, who is training for her first Marathon race in July, and who (along with her husband) just went under contract on a lovely home in the Seattle area, so they'll be moving next month. Whew - it wears me out just writing that!

Heart's Delight Cards, Enjoy Life, Playful Backgrounds, Stampin' Up!

Anyhoo, I just wanted to send her some happy mail and let her know that I think she is awesome. She gets up before dawn every day to accomplish everything on her "to do" list, so I thought a sunrise would be appropriate. The silhouette even looks like her!

The inside was stamped with the retired Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Amazing You, and the die-cut was also a SAB item, but the Celebrate You Thinlits dies are in the new catalog! I added some spots from the Playful Backgrounds set, and used the Seaside embossing folder for some texture behind the image. This was a REALLY easy card to make. I hope she likes it!

My Inky Friends Challenge #6 - Color Combo!

Heart's Delight Cards, Varied Vases, MIFDC6, Stampin' Up!

Here's a fun color combination for this month's My Inky Friends Design Challenge, inspired by page 63 of the 2017 Stampin' Up! catalog. I love the bright, summery colors, of Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Bermuda Bay, don't you? It reminds me of all the flowers that have started blooming around here, so naturally I had to "pick" some flowers from Varied Vases for my card. (Get it? *Pick* Heehee!)

http://myinkyfriends.blogspot.com/

I stamped the vases from with VersaMark ink on the colored cardstock before punching them out. Unfortunately, it's so subtle you can barely see it! Next time, I'll heat emboss in clear so that will make them more visible.

I laid the vases where I wanted them over the frame (Swirly Frames) and decided which flowers to use. Then the vases were slid out of the way to stamp the flower stems. After adding the color fill (2-Step stamping), the vases were popped up on dimensionals.

The Stamp Review Crew - Sweet Cupcake

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2018/05/sweet-cupcake.html

The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who hope to inspire creativity by focusing on a single stamp set each month. It's fun to see how many different looks you can get from each set! The Crew's spotlight this time is on Sweet Cupcake which, alas, is retiring at the end of this month. If you started at the beginning, hang in there - I'm the last stop after Stesha over at Stampin' Hoot. If you started here with me, then just follow the links to take the whole tour. There are nine of us on this hop, so there's bound to be some "yummy" ideas!

Heart's Delight Cards, Sweet Cupcake, Cupcake Cutouts, Stamp Review Crew - Sweet Cupcake, Masculine Birthday, Stampin' Up!

I've made lots of sweet cupcakes with pink frosting swirls, but I thought a masculine-looking double Z-fold card would be something different, so this is what I came up with! And who doesn't love a cupcake with a generous swirl of chocolate frosting?

It looks rather plain on the front, but when you open it, there's a surprise inside!

I used some retired Crushed Curry Stampin' Emboss Powder for the "Make A" so that it would coordinate with the Crushed Curry cardstock "Wish." I think it turned out kind of cute, with the candle appearing behind the cupcake when you open it!

Just a reminder: Chocolate Chip is one of the colors retiring the end of the month, as are the True Gentleman DSP and Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies. Get 'em while you can!
