Congratulations Bits

I used more pieces from the bits box today. The tree from the retired Beautiful Branches Thinlits was waiting to be used, along with the die cut from the So Detailed Thinlits. I just made a watercolor wash using Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach for the background and stamped the greeting from So in Love, popped up on dimensionals. Yes, the ribbon was already tied on the die cut in my box of useful bits (it really is useful)!

I'm working on getting my veggie garden layout finalized. I must say, our grid paper is VERY handy for this! Silly me, I thought it was just for stamping. It's nice not having to tape regular size sheets of graph paper together.

Getting Carried Away!

Sale-A-Bration ends in two days and this fabulous Carried Away DSP will be gone forever! It coordinates so perfectly with the Lift Me Up bundle that I adore. This is one of the consumables that is on a "while supplies last" basis, so I may have hoarded *cough* stashed an extra pack (or two). Hey it was free, so who am I to turn down free stuff?

The greeting is actually a single stamp. I carefully inked up the top half and stamped it, then cleaned the stamp and did the same with the bottom half so I could split it between the two clouds. I could have cut the stamp apart, as well, but didn't want to bother. Did I just hear someone gasp? You did know you could do that, right? You can do it with the red rubber stamps OR the photopolymer stamps!

So in Love with Delicate Details

The clock is ticking loudly now on the countdown to the end of Sale-A-Bration 2017! There are only FOUR days left and I can't believe how quickly SAB went by.....well actually yeah, I can, because everything seems to be moving at breakneck speed these days. We are already near the end of the first quarter of the year, and I haven't even started my Christmas cards yet!

I combined some SAB stamps with some "useful bits" for this card. The Delicate Details lace stamps were lined up on a large block to make repeat stamping easy. I like the subtle look of VersaMark ink on colored cardstock, don't you?

From the bits box I pulled the leaves from Special Reason already stamped and cut, as well as the flower from So in Love, already colored and fussy-cut. I have no idea what I had planned for them, but they work together nicely here, I think! The greeting is from Tasty Trucks, another SAB item that is ending soon.

Avant Garden Birthday, Part II

I really, really am going to be sad to see this set go, can you tell? If you want it, you only have five days left to qualify for it before it's gone forever. And don't even get me started on the In Colors that will be retiring in a couple months! Whatever will we do without Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder? That's why I chose those colors for this card. (Cue the dirge for the background music.)

Smiley from Millan.Net

But seriously, it always pains me when fun stampin' goodies retire. The only thing that soothes the agony is the new stampin' goodies that replace them!

Here's the "How To"
 Greeting: Whisper White 3-3/8" x 4-1/8"
 Mat: Basic Black 3-1/2" x 4-1/4"
 Glimmer paper: 1" x 4"
 Card base: Mint Macaron 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  1. Mask off 1-1/8" from center of greeting panel and stamp blossoms using Watermelon Wonder and Flirty Flamingo above and below mask. Stamp flower centers in Basic Black and leaves in Mint Macaron.
  2. Remove mask and stamp greeting in center using Watermelon Wonder.
  3. Attach greeting to mat.
  4. Use Best Badge punch to make a scalloped edge on glimmer paper. Center behind Basic Black mat, adhere, and trim ends even.
  5. Attach greeting to card base using dimensionals.
And there you have an easy-peasy card, ready to wow someone special!
