Thursday Challenge - CCMC807

Spring is in the air - I'm feeling it! Even though I know winter will try to take another shot or two at us, I'm ready for new growth, flowers, planting my garden (not, yet, but I'm planning!) and warmer weather. With that in mind, I made a Spring-y card for this week's Thursday sketch challenge.

Today is the last day of Sale-A-Bration, and the Delightfully Eclectic 12 x 12 (48 sheets!) DSP used on this card is one of the items you can get with a $50 purchase. Yes, it is available in the annual catalog, but after SAB, it's going to cost you $30. Wouldn't you rather get it for free?

A 1/4" strip of Distressed Gold joins the DSP and Garden Green (on which I stamped the splatters with VersaMark). For the flower bouquet I pulled out a bundle I haven't used in a while - Quiet Meadow. After die cutting the flower sprigs from watercolor paper, I used a water painter and Melon Mambo, Bubble Bath, and Garden Green to add the color.

The white scalloped die cut (from Thoughtful Expressions) was embossed with the Basics 3D folder and adhered to the card, with the flowers and greeting popped up. A Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon bow ties the bouquet together.

Stamp Review Crew - Sale-A-Bration, Part 2

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's 2024 Sale-A-Bration (Part 2) edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Betty's blog, welcome! There are six of us today, and new items were added to SAB, so I can't wait to see what the crew chose!

I have a mixture of stamp sets, DSP, and embellishments on the cards today. First up is a simple card focusing on the Sunny Days DSP, and using the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set.

The DSP was cut to 3" x 4 1/4", and the black mat is 3 1/4" x 4 1/2". The bow is white baker's twine colored with a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend.

Up next is a card using the Softly Sophisticated stamp set and embossing folder bundle.  The DSP is from Softly Stippled and cut with a Perennial Postage die, as are the image/greeting and Distressed Gold accent. Ink colors are Melon Mambo and Shaded Spruce. Note the Pool Party Opaque Faceted Gems, which are also a SAB item.

And lastly I used the Detailed Dogwood stamp set and fussy cut the budding branch, onto which I added the punched blooms (Petal Park Builder Punch).  A loop of the Pool Party Crinkled Ribbon was adhered behind. The DSP on this card is also from the Sunny Days pack.

The greeting is also from Heartfelt Hellos, and Opaque Faceted Gems were used on the flower centers.

That's all I have to share for today, so click "Next" to see what Jay created, or "Previous" to visit Betty again. Thanks for stopping by!

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Sugar is Sweet

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Hop theme is Sugar is Sweet; cards focusing on sweets. I'm not much into sweets, my preference is savory/salty, but these adorable cupcakes look mighty tasty! Looks like pistachio, lemon, and strawberry to me. 😋

I wrapped the Natural ribbon around the 3" x 5 1/2" DSP and adhered it to the embossed 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock, then the whole thing was adhered to the card base.

After stamping the cupcakes in Crumb Cake ink, they were colored with Blends and die cut with the 1 1/2" square Stylish Shapes die. The greeting was die cut with the banner die from the same set and adhered behind the bottom cupcake, then they all were popped up on mini dimensionals on the card.

I used a couple of items from the upcoming release of new Online Exclusives on March 4th - the sequins and the embossing folder. The embossing folders (set of two) are the narrower ones that emboss 3 1/4" x 6". Stay tuned for a trick on making the whole panel embossed once customers can order on March 4th!

Thursday Challenge - CCMC806

I hope your week is going well! This week we have a color challenge, and since yesterday was my husband's birthday, I thought these colors would make a great birthday card for him:

He's so darn sweet! I left it by the coffeepot for him to find. (Since we retired, he has taken over the coffee making duty.) He commented on all the little details and how he liked the colors. 💖 Next year we'll celebrate our golden anniversary....I think I'll keep him, lol.

I used Crushed Curry on the Rays of Light stamp and covered it with vellum before die cutting. The Radiating Stitches die was used first, then the Perennial Postage die. The Wanted to Say greeting was cut twice, in Coastal Cabana and Basic White, with the white adhered a little bit offset.

The truck and gifts were fussy cut, and you can't really see it, but I put a tiny piece of Window Sheet in the window for the glass. It was popped up on the white Stylish Shapes Circle, which was popped up on the Coastal Cabana circle.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Pick Me Up

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Hop theme is "pick me up", so get well/thinking of you cards are our inspiration today. I thought the greeting in Hot Air Balloon was perfect for this!

On a Pool Party card base I adhered the clouds from the free SAB Sunny Days DSP. The Basic White clouds were die cut and adhered to vellum, then the balloons were stamped and die cut and popped up over the clouds. Some Wink of Stella was added for a little shimmer on the Parakeet Party balloon.

The greeting was also popped up, then some Mini Glue Dots were placed behind the clouds, balloons, and greeting to adhere the vellum to the card.
