My baby girl turned 39(!) last week, and green is her favorite color, so this is the card that I made for her. That girl loooves donuts. (She gets that from her father, who is also a donut connoisseur.) To give you an idea of just how much she loves those sweet fried nuggets, she and her husband had a stack of donuts for their wedding cake. With a lotus blossom twirling open sparkler candle on top. It was epic! And she has a donut tattoo on her ankle, too.
So when I first laid eyes on the Birthday Goodness stamp set in the 2019-20 Annual Catalog, I knew I absolutely had to get it. Even if I only used it once for her birthday card, it would be money well spent. (But I will be using it more than that, of course!)
I used a retired SU border punch and the straight stitched die from the Stitched Labels Dies to created the pretty scalloped border. I wish I could remember where I saw the card that I used for inspiration, so I could give credit!
I did fudge a bit with the coloring and used Copic markers for the chocolate frosting. I needed a rich brown, which SU doesn't have. (Okay Stampin' Up! When will we have an Early Espresso Combo set???)
Anyhoo, here is the birthday girl with her birthday donuts. She runs a LOT, so she can indulge in donuts when the urge strikes. So proud of my baby girl!
