Stamp Review Crew - Perfectly Plaid

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Perfectly Plaid edition! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Jay's blog, Mitosu Crafts, welcome! There are eight of us playing with plaid today, so there should be lots to inspire you!

The Perfectly Plaid stamp set is 13 pieces of photopolymer, meaning it's perfectly clear to make it easy for lining up two-step stamping. And it has a matching Pine Tree Punch so you can punch out a lot of trees in a jiffy!

I have two cards to share today. For the first one, I was feeling kind of Fifties-retro with the color scheme. Definitely not your traditional Christmas colors!

I used Magenta Madness, Just Jade, and Bumblebee ink with sponge daubers to ink up the plaid tree. The matching In Color Enamel Dots added festive decorations to the trees.

Since the trees were so.... colorful, I went with Basic Gray as a neutral background and heat embossed the white greeting.

The second card is completely different. This one is a little more elegant, I think. Starting with a Gold Cards & Envelopes, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla slightly smaller to fit inside the gold metallic printed card base.

After heat embossing the gold greeting, I used the Wrapped In Texture folder to emboss the top above the greeting and wrapped a piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon around it before adhering to the card base.

The trees were also heat embossed in gold (I did a lot of embossing today!) and punched out, then adhered with mini dimensionals. A few gold Metallic Pearls topped the trees.

That's my share for today, so jump on over to see what Lou at With a Bow on Top has made!

Saturday Christmas Beauty

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is "Christmas Beauty." I think the hushed beauty of the little house in Still Scenes certainly qualifies!

One of the advantages of being retired is not having to worry about what day it is. But that also means sometimes the weekend sneaks up on you, especially after Thanksgiving! So my post is late today and I apologize to Connie and Libby for flaking out! I really thought today was Friday!

I tried the new shaker card technique using the Stampin' Up! Clear Envelopes. It sure makes it easy to create a shaker, and eliminate a lot of the bulk for easy mailing!

Merry & Bright Online Extravaganza

UPDATE! Due to technical difficulties with ordering earlier today, the sale has been extended until 11:59 p.m. (MT) tomorrow, Nov. 25!

Today's the day for the 24 hour Online Extravaganza sale! Most things in the catalog are discounted 10%, so now is a good time to stock up on basics, or get that stamp set bundle you've been waiting for. And yes, the 10% off is on top of the 10% bundle discount!

I'm posting pics of the alphabetical list of exclusions below. Be sure to click on it to enlarge it enough to read it (if your eyes are getting old, like mine, LOL).

I am always, always grateful when you choose to shop with me! Beginning this month (Nov 2020) I will be sending thank you gifts to everyone who uses the current host code (upper right) and places a $30 (or more) product order with me. If your merchandise total is $150 or more, don't use the host code, so you can get the Stampin' Rewards - but you will still get a thank you gift from me! The thank yous will be sent the first week of the following month, which gives me time to order and receive them. 😁

Saturday Whimsical Christmas

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is "Whimsical Christmas" and I think the gnomes in Gnome for the Holidays are about as whimsical as can be!

It's so amusing to me that I like this set because I am so NOT into cutesy things. But the images just really captivated me, for some reason, and this couple is adorable.

They look like she just baked some cookies and is inviting us in for tea, and he is in the middle of decorating the tree. I think the mistletoe on his cap is so endearing, too.

That's my share for today. Now click the Next button to jump to Libby Fens at Libby Stamps, or the Back button to see what Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner made!

Happy Holidays from the Control Freaks!

The Control Freaks are so happy that the holidays are near since we can all use a little holiday cheer these days, and the Freaks want to share some! There are seven of us today, and I'm number one on the list. If you started here with me or landed here from Wendy's blog, Wickedly Wonderful Creations, either way, welcome!  Be sure to follow the links at the bottom of each stop to visit all the Freaks.

I got kind of wrapped up in the pines from the In the Pines bundle, LOL. Both of my cards use either the stamps or dies..... but there is a sneak peek included on this first card. Did you notice it right away?

That gorgeous Rococo Rose ombre DSP is part of the Oh So Ombre 6" x 6" DSP that will be available as a Sale-A-Bration reward in January! It reminds me so much of alpenglow, which I haven't seen in decades.

The background trees were stamped in black directly on the DSP, then the snowy hill was adhered on top. The larger tree was stamped in black, and the tree filler and snow in Smoky Slate. Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes include a sheet of iridescent flakes with pink, lavender, and peachy undertones which were perfect for this card!

The second card just uses a tree die from the Pine Woods Dies along with a label die from the Hippo & Friends Dies. The background under the tree was made with the ol' baby wipe technique except I didn't stamp on it; I dabbed the inky wipe on a scrap of cardstock for the mottled effect. I was kind of hoping it would look like snowy branches, but I don't think it does. Still an interesting look, though.

The Sahara Sand striped DSP is in the Classic Christmas 6" x 6" DSP pack that is only available until January 4th, while supplies last. It is such a lovely neutral to accent the Shaded Spruce ink and ribbon! And naturally I had to add some Holiday Rhinestones to match. *grin*

That's all my projects for this month. Up next is Tami Hewlett at Swimming in Stamps!
