SOTW - Wrapped Bouquet

One more card with this set, and then it's on to new things! I used a Mossy Meadow card base and stamped the "newsprint" all over the front with matching ink. The Ornate Layers die was cut in Soft Sea Foam.

The bouquet was also stamped in Mossy Meadow and colored with Stampin' Blends. (I used the dark Soft Sea Foam Blends to color the background around the bouquet so the white flowers would show up.)

The bouquet wrapper was stamped in Smoky Slate on both sides so the folded-back part also showed the newsprint. A Linen Thread bow and a few Pearl Basic Jewels finished it off.

SOTW - Wrapped Bouquet (and a heads-up)

Here's another card made with the Wrapped Bouquet bundle, and a cautionary tale, LOL. First of all, I have to say I love making backgrounds with the Blending Brushes and decorative masks. So easy, and such a wow factor! And there will be new masks in the new catty! However (and here comes the heads-up), it's always a good idea to thoroughly clean your masks before using them again.

That background was supposed to be Fresh Freesia to match the flowers. Apparently I used Rococo Rose last time and forgot to clean the mask afterward, resulting in the background you see here. Not exactly the look I was going for, but it still looked good, so I ran with it.

Look closely and you'll see it.

And now for the second heads-up. I try to be a shining example for y'all, but sometimes end up being a horrible warning instead. *snort* When coloring embellishments with Stampin' Blends, some things (like the twine) take WAAAAY longer to dry than others. So make sure your twine is thoroughly dry before using it on your card, or you'll end up adding color where you didn't intend.

•    Designer Paper: In Good Taste Designer Paper 5” x 3-3/4”
•    Cardstock #3: Basic White Cardstock 3-1/4” x 3-1/4”
•    Designer Paper: In Good Taste Designer Paper 3” x 3”

Instructions:
•    Glue Basic White Cardstock to Pear Pizzazz Card Base.
•    Glue In Good Taste Designer Paper to card front.
•    Using the smallest piece of designer paper, stamp the leaf image to the left and bottom using Pear Pizzazz Ink. Stamp the script image to fill in the background around the leaves using Early Espresso Ink. Glue to the smallest Basic White Cardstock layer. Punch a hole in both corners at the top with the handheld punch. Set aside.
•    Stamp the medallion image on a scrap piece of Seaside Spray Cardstock using Early Espresso Ink. Cut the shape with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Glue to the center of the stamped layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
•    Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock. Cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Glue to the center of the medallion layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
•    Tie Linen thread at the top of the stamped layer through the holes to create a hanging sign. It’s easiest if you tie the left side into a bow and tie the right side into a knot. Add the two ribbons by tying into knots on the right through the Linen Thread. Trim the ends into angles.
•    Glue sign layer to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
•    Add a Gold Glitter Enamel Dot to hang the sign by the Linen Thread by adding two layers of Mini Glue Dots under the enamel dot so it is elevated.

Stamp of the Week - Wrapped Bouquet

This week's Stamp of the Week is Wrapped Bouquet. It's a seven piece cling stamp set, and has a nine piece coordinating die set called Wrapped Flowers Dies. If you bundle them, you can save 10% off the individual prices.

I made this card for my mom for Mother's Day. Don't worry, she won't see it until I send it .... she doesn't get on the computer much, and then it's mainly to play games, LOL.

Her favorite color is red, so naturally that's what color the flowers needed to be. I kept everything else neutral so the flowers would really pop, along with the resin hearts. I was sorry to see the hearts aren't being carried over to the new annual catalog. Also REALLY sorry the Subtle 3D embossing folder isn't carrying over, too. *sigh*

Oh well, neither is this stamp set with the coordinating dies, for that matter. Since this set is part of the Jan-Jun Mini, it will be around until the end of June, and there is plenty more to love coming next week! If you need a catalog, let me know and I'll send one out right away.
