CCMC795 - Sketch Challenge

Hello, stampers! This week's Create With Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge is a sketch. When I saw the layout, I immediately thought of big snowflakes. Boy, it's been cold enough for snow here the last few days, but we have nary a flake yet this season. So I decided to make my own!

I was very happy to see that the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set is on the carryover list, as well as the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder. Woohoo!

I started by blending a little Pretty Peacock on the background, then embossed it and adhered it to the card base. A 1/2" x 5" strip of Pretty Peacock was added next, with a 1-1/2" x 4" piece of Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP on top. (Sadly, the DSP is retiring.) These pics just don't do that DSP justice. It's so much prettier in person!

The snowflakes were stamped in Pretty Peacock (the fuller flake was stamped off first) and die cut with a Beautiful Shapes hexagon, then popped up on the card. And the greeting was stamped, fussy cut, and popped up as well. Some copper Adhesive-backed Snowflake Assortment flakes were added, too. I think Pretty Peacock and copper are a match made in heaven!

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Fave Christmas Bundle

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Hop theme is our favorite Christmas bundle from the holiday catalog, and right now my fave is Christmas Classics. I love the two background dies with the matching label dies, as well as the holly and pine greenery.

It's so easy to make a beautiful card, and this one didn't take much time at all!

I kept it even simpler by not stamping/coloring/die cutting the holly berries, and used the gold pearls in Festive Pearls instead.

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

CCMC794 - Color Challenge

                             HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I hope you all are enjoying the feast with friends and family! This week our Thursday Challenge is a color challenge, and if I'd had my wits about me, I'd have made a giving thanks card. It just didn't occur to me until right as I finished this one. *Smacks forehead*

Here are the colors:

Christmas mode is fully activated here, so I had to go with 🎄

Copper Clay was perfect for the giraffe, and Lost Lagoon for the tree. But where was I going to use Pebbled Path? Well, for the Christmas tree stand, the giraffe's feet and, of course, the ground shadows. Because giraffes and trees can't levitate. 😆

I really like the sparkle of the Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP, and thought a Silver & White Sheer Ribbon bow (colored with a Dark Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blend) added even more lovely sparkle.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Colorful Leaves

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Hop theme is colorful leaves, and a person would automatically think of autumn colors, right? But I decided to do something a little different...a rainbow leaf!

I started by using sponge daubers to add the different colors to the Cheers to the Season leaf stamp. Not only does it make adding different colors easy, but using sponge daubers to ink up the DistINKtive stamps really helps bring out the details.

The leaf was die cut with the largest Stylish Shapes square and matted on Copper Clay, and then on the Tartan Foil background. Copper Clay ribbon and Speckled Dots completed the card.

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

CCMC793 - Sketch Challenge

This week's Thursday Challenge is a sketch and I had so much fun with it! I just got the Joy of Noel stamp set and knew the four letters in NOEL would be perfect for this.

And, alas, as soon as I got this set, the retiring (Last Chance products) and carryover lists came out and this one is not carrying over, darn it! But the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder is, so there's that.😉

The four 1-1/2" squares behind the vellum circle are Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce, embossed with a Basics 3D folder. Vellum was die cut with a Stylish Shapes circle. The "Joyous" was fussy cut, but the "NOEL" has matching dies, so there was no need to hand cut them. A few gold snowflakes from the Adhesive-backed Snowflake Assortment were added.

A quick reminder - today is the last day of the Seasonal Sale on products in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog!
