The Stamp Review Crew - Sailing Home

Heart's Delight Cards, Sailing Home, SRC - Sailing Home, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Stampin' Up!

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2019/06/SH.html

It's the fifth Monday of the month and that means a bonus hop from the Stamp Review Crew! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Stesha's blog, The Stampin' Hoot, welcome!

Today we are featuring Sailing Home, part of the Come Sail Away Suite. It's a truly wonderful collection with a nautical theme, and includes trinkets, baker's twine, and an embossing folder to complement the stamps, dies, and Designer Series Paper.

I used a little of it all on this card! I started by embossing Vellum Cardstock with the High Seas 3D folder and adhering it to the Balmy Blue card base. A 2" x 5" strip of DSP was matted on Whisper White. The 3" x 3" striped DSP was matted on Night of Navy and then on Whisper White. Both were then adhered to the vellum, covering the adhesive that showed.

The seaweed was cut in Whisper White and adhered to the card at the base, leaving the fronds free. Two sailboats were stamped in Night of Navy and die cut, along with the greeting. One boat was glued down over the tip of the seaweed, and the other was popped up on dimensionals.

The anchor trinket was threaded with the baker's twine and held in place with glue dots. Then the greeting was added. Inside the card was dressed up with a strip of DSP and some stamped off images. (Don't throw away your DSP scraps; they can be put to use!)

I even stamped the front of the envelope, because just decorating the flap with DSP wasn't enough, LOL!

Next on the hop is Jay, at Mitosu Crafts. I really like his outside the box thinking!

Simple to Stepped Up Tour de Freaks

Heart's Delight Cards, Band Together, Tour de Freaks, Stampin' Up!, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog

Welcome to this month's Tour de Freaks blog hop! Our theme this month is "Simple to Stepped Up" which is right up my alley. It's fun to make quick and easy, simple cards, and then take the same card to the next level by stepping it up a bit. My three cards today are simple, stepped up, and almost over the top, LOL. If you arrived here from Julie's blog, Julie's Stamping Spot, howdy! Just follow the links to take the whole tour.

Since I hadn't yet played with the Band Together bundle, I thought that would be a good one to use. I really am trying to be better about using ALL the stamps I buy - it's just that there are so many pretty stamps and so little time!

For the simple card shown at the top, I stamped with Memento ink on Shimmery White cardstock, colored it with Stampin' Blends, adhered it to a Whisper White card base, and that was it - easy peasy, and a good example of a CAS card!

The stepped up card started out the same, but I added an Old Olive foil belly band (Noble Peacock Foil Sheets) and popped the greeting up on dimensionals to make it a bit more interesting.

The third card is what I'd consider extra stepped up, but not really "over the top". Over the top to me means lots of layers, textures, ribbon and/or embellishments.

This one has the same basic layout as the others, but this time I used the Scripty 3D embossing folder (love that thing!) on the image panel, stamped and colored an extra blossom to die cut and pop up on dimensionals, added white highlights to the petals, Old Olive rhinestones to the greeting, and adhered it to an Old Olive card base. THIS one is a little more my style (must be the bling, LOL)!

TEN YEAR STAMP-IVERSARY!

Ten years ago today, I made a decision that completely changed my life for the better, but I had no way of knowing it at the time! I took the plunge and joined Stampin' Up! just so I could get the discount on the products I had come to love. The wonderful friends I've made along the way are a bonus I never expected!

http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/cindyelam/jointhefun

To celebrate my Stampin' Up! anniversary, I have two offers. The first one is for anyone who takes advantage of the Extra, Extra bonus to join Stampin' Up!
  • New demonstrators who sign up between July 1 and August 31 will receive an additional $30 that they’ll be able to put toward their Starter Kit (pay $99 and choose $155 worth of products).
  • New demonstrators will receive a $10 coupon code, which they may use the following month.
If you join in July, you can start using the coupon in August, which just happens to be the preorder period for the holiday catalog! If you join in August, you can choose Holiday catalog preorder items for your kit, and then use the coupon in September. The coupon codes will expire October 31st.

Now, my personal offer to you if you join my team is a Starter Accessory Kit, which includes Paper Snips, Simply Shammy stamp cleaner (with case, not shown), a starter acrylic D block to stick your stamps on, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and a pack of Mini Stampin' Dimensionals - everything you need to get going, leaving you more choices for stamps, ink, and paper in your starter kit! That's a $29.50 value and will be my gift to you for joining my stamping family.

Not ready to take the plunge? Then let me give you a Thank You gift if you place an order with me during the month of July, using the current Host Code on the upper right. Once I receive notice of your order (using the Host Code!) I will contact you to find out what you'd like for your gift. The choices are any one color Classic Stampin' Pad, OR a spool of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, OR a spool of 3/8" Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon.

And now an observation: if you had planned to buy about $80 in products, then add in tax and shipping, that comes to almost $99, the price of the starter kit. Now consider that for the same $99 you can choose $155 in products, and shipping is FREE on the starter kit. It's a much better deal, almost double the product (more bang for your buck!) and there is no further obligation on your part. That's it! If you like getting the 20% demo discount, and want to stay active, you'd need to meet the minimum by the end of December (Oct-Dec is your first full quarter). If you don't buy anything else, you will no longer be "active" and that's that. There's no penalty of any kind. Think about it.
