12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN JULY (Day 12)

Heart's Delight Cards, Wishes & Wonder, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

Here we are at the last day of July, and the last of the twelve days of Christmas in July. Geez, that went fast! Well, in a few short days you will be able to order from the Aug-Dec Mini, so that's something to look forward to. And there are so many more things that I didn't get a chance to use, I'm sure they will be appearing here in the near future!

Heart's Delight Cards, Wishes & Wonder, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

For the final card, I used the Wishes & Wonder bundle (part of the Wonder of the Season Suite) again, because I just HAD to use that sleigh somehow. (Going for a sleigh ride is on my bucket list.) The holly bunch is part of the Wonder of the Season Memories & More Card Pack, also part of the suite. Lots of neat stickers in there!

The Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper makes a nice background without having to emboss. I was going to cover the whole card front with it, but having the greeting on a label on top didn't look right. I thought making it a bit narrower, leaving room for the greeting (Itty Bitty Christmas) at the bottom, looked better.

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN JULY (Day 11)

Heart's Delight Cards, Life Is Beautiful, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

When I saw the Life is Beautiful photopolymer stamp set in the new mini catalog, it zoomed to the top of my preorder list. No, really! This is going to be such a versatile set for any season, and I've used it for the very first time on a holiday card. I don't know if it really qualifies as a Christmas card, but the sentiment sure fits. We could certainly use some peace on Earth, and more good will toward (hu)man.

Heart's Delight Cards, Life Is Beautiful, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

This just came together so beautifully - I was hoping for a soft, peaceful scene, and I think I captured it. At least it looks peaceful to me!

Heart's Delight Cards, Life Is Beautiful, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

I used a sponge dauber to ink the stamps. It's my new favorite way of inking if I want to preserve the details of the stamp. Did you know you can get better coverage on photopolymer (and even red rubber) stamps if you condition them first? I use my thumb to rub all the shiny off the clear ones, leaving them looking frosty. The ink sticks so much better! For red rubber, I use an eraser all over, then clean it well to get the eraser dust off before inking. Measurements and instructions are below.

Remember, buy any bundle in August from the upcoming 2020 Aug-Dec Mini Catalog, which starts August 4th, and received a pre-cut, ready to stamp and assemble card kit (4 cards and envelopes) from me! The kit will include any die cuts and embossed pieces, as well as embellishments needed to complete the cards. All you need is stamps, ink, and adhesives.

Measurements

  Card base: Whisper White 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  DSP: Snowflake Splendor 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
  Image panel: Whisper White 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
Die cut greeting: Whisper White and Just Jade 1-1/2" x 3-1/2"
  Stamped greeting: Whisper White scrap

Instructions
  1. Adhere DSP to card base.
  2. Using sponge daubers to add ink, stamp tree (Crumb Cake) and "leaves" (Pool Party dots & Just Jade flakes) on Whisper White panel so that branches on left side just hang off the edge of the cardstock. Stamp shadow under tree (Pool Party).
  3. Emboss with the Subtle 3D folder. Die cut with the second largest Stitched Rectangle die. Adhere to card base leaving 1/8" border of DSP showing on left.

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN JULY (Day 10)

Heart's Delight Cards, Coming Home, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

Coming Home is one of my favorite stamp sets in the Aug-Dec Mini, if for no other reason than it is a Making A Difference stamp set. Stampin' Up! is donating $3.00 for every stamp set sold to charities devoted to adoption, foster care, and infertility. That just warms my heart!

But I do have another reason why I love this set. As soon as I saw the Volkswagen beetle, it reminded me of my friend Jodi and her blue convertible bug! *Waves and blows kisses* Hi, Jodi! Miss you much!!! 💟

Anyway, this is part of the Trimming the Town Suite, which includes the 12 piece photopolymer stamp set, 13 piece Home Together Dies, Trimming the Town DSP, and some fab embellishments which I didn't use here. I stamped and colored the images, but if you don't like coloring, you could make a similar card just using the dies and DSP, because some of the images match the dies! Yep, even the greeting was cut from DSP. Measurements and instructions are below.
