Stamp Review Crew - He's All That

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's He's All That edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Charlet's blog, welcome! There are only four of us today, so it won't take long to get some masculine-type card inspiration!

The He's All That stamp set is an eleven piece cling stamp set, and it has the coordinating ten piece All That Dies. Of course, if you buy them together you can save 10%. This is such a fun set, and the He's The Man DSP takes it over the top.

My first card showcases the camping adventure themed DSP along with one of the included pre-cut arrow dies that are included in the DSP pack.

This was a quick and easy card to put together and I think I may use this for our anniversary next month. Every day of our almost 47 years HAS been an adventure!

This next card was one we made in our stamp club this month. The theme was fun folds, and the ladies really liked this one!

It was pointed out to me by a stamping sister that the bottom flap is the perfect size for a gift card adhered inside...brilliant!

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - In Color and Classics

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is to coordinate one new In Color with two Classic Colors! So. Many. Combinations. 😮  The cute retro-style bathing suits in the Sunny Splash stamp set just begged for bright colors, so I paired Parakeet Party with Coastal Cabana and Mango Melody.

The Basic Black card base was embossed with the Quatrefoil Tile folder and a strip of Parakeet Party Glimmer was adhered for the background.

After stamping and fussy cutting the bathing suits, they were popped up on the Deckled Rectangles die cut DSP. some matte dots added a little pop.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Another Color Combo!

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is another color combo - this time it's Orchid Oasis and Sweet Sorbet. This combination was much more of a challenge for me than last week's, because red and purple aren't really my "thing."

I knew I'd have to do something floral, but with so many beautiful sets to choose from, that made it another challenge! After flipping through the catalog, I decided Hand-Penned Petals was exactly what I needed for this card.

The next challenge was choosing the background....should I use a Orchid Oasis card base with Sweet Sorbet DSP? Or Sweet Sorbet base with Orchid Oasis DSP? Or maybe a white base? I thought this combination looked the best, so I went with it. After that, it was a piece of cake to stamp and color the image, die cut it, and and assemble the card.

That's all for today - see you next Saturday for more color inspiration! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

Control Freaks - CAS

The Freaky theme this month is CAS, meaning Clean and Simple. If you landed here from Melissa's blog, welcome! There are five of us showing our take on the CAS look, so there's sure to be a lot of different wonderful ideas.

CAS is usually defined as one focal point with lots of "white" space (meaning open area), minimal or no layers, and minimal or no embellishments. This is something that is a challenge to me because my motto is "More is more." More layers, more bling...you get the idea. It doesn't quite cross into the heavily ornate vintage Victorian style, but sometimes I come close.

So, for my first card, I went totally CAS. Only one layer (card base doesn't count in my book); a deckle edge rectangle showcasing the glimmer die cut and a simple greeting from Inspired Thoughts. All done in my current fave new In Color - Starry Sky!

My next card is two layers, if you count the greeting, and I did add some Natural Finish Ribbon under the greeting, so there is some embellishment. The large floral image from Blessings of Home was inked lightly with a sponge dauber in Tahitian Tide. I think I should have stamped it off once so it isn't quite so obvious. Made the white space disappear, heh.

And, because I struggle with CAS, my next card has three layers if you count the butterfly and stamped greeting. But it does have lots of white space, so I can take credit for that, right? Maybe knock off a few points for adding bling, though. I used the die and greeting from Sending Smiles, and borrowed the butterfly from the fabulous Designer Tags dies. The Rose Gold Specialty Paper made up the die cuts, and the rest of the greeting was stamped in Blushing Bride. Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels added the bling I thought it needed.

My last card is my favorite of this group. I knew as soon as I saw the background grid die in Chic Dies that I had to have it to showcase whatever image I wanted to use. And it doesn't disappoint! I stamped the image in Basic Gray and colored with Blends, the fussy cut it. (I could have used my ScanNCut but didn't want to drag it out for one image.) It was then popped up on dimensionals over the die cut grid, which was adhered to the clear embossed background. The embossed leaves are from the Sending Smiles set.

So, while there are a few layers and some heat embossing, from a distance it still looks like a lot of white space is left. Aaaand, I didn't use any embellishments!

Up next is Bree, at Craft-somnia Momma. I can't wait to see her CAS style!

Stamp Review Crew - Sending Smiles

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Sending Smiles edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Lou's blog, welcome! There are nine of us today - I guess a bunch of us like to send smiles!

Sending Smiles is a 22 piece photopolymer set with some floral and greenery images, but I think the best part are the great greetings...there are eight occasions to add to the large "Sending", and to make it even better, there is a 14 piece die set to match. Check out those labels! Of course, if you bundle both, you save 10%. 😊

I only have one card to share today. Life got in the way this week, and this was all I could manage. And let me tall ya, with the week (month) I had, it's amazing I even got this finished.

I die cut a circle in scrap paper to use as a mask for the So Saffron sun. Gosh, I love how easy the Blending Brushes made that task. The Pear Pizzazz stem was stamped next, then the Pale Papaya and Soft Suede flower was stamped, die cut, and popped up on dimensionals.

Mossy Meadow was used for the die cut and stamped sentiment, as well as the card base. I think it pairs so well with So Saffron, don't you? And butterflies make everything better!

That's all I have to share for today, so click "Next" to see what Kristie at My Paper Life created, or "Previous" to visit Lou's blog again!

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Color Combinations

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is the Parakeet Party/Tahitian Tide color combination. This is such a great pairing of the cool tropical blue of Tahitian Tide with the brilliant green of Parakeet Party. I know not many flowers sport this hue, but I couldn't resist using the Cottage Rose bundle ... just so I could color that awesome blossom!

I had to chuckle as I was coloring the leaves, though. The gardener in me kept saying "Sure looks like a case of chlorosis; they need a dose of iron!" 😆

If you look closely, you might see the Wink of Stella on the petals below. Bling, but not too blingy. (Click pic for a close-up.)

All the patterns in the new 6" x 6" DSP color collections are gorgeous, and I used two of them here. The floral print tag behind the flower was cut with a Designer Tags die. It's a stand alone die set (page 170) that is going to see a lot of use from me. 💙

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Fave New In Color!

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is our favorite NEW In Color. Since I'm a bluesy-lovin' gal, my favorites are Starry Sky and Tahitian Tide. But truth be told, I love them all this year! Today Tahitian Tide won by a narrow margin. *grin*

The new Designer Tags Dies are such a dream to use! I knew I wanted the pierced tag to be backed by a Tahitian Tide tag, but wasn't sure where to go from there. The large white tag behind it was too plain on a white card base, and even with a Tahitian Tide base it was lacking something.

2022-2024 In Color DSP to the rescue! It made the perfect backdrop for the large white tag, and a 3/4" strip from the other TT design sheet fit through the tag openings. I kept the greeting simple, since the glimmer butterfly and pierced tag are the center of attention.

The Tahitian Tide tag, pierced white tag and butterfly are each popped up on dimensionals for a 3D look.
