CCMC782 - Thursday Color Challenge

Our Thursday challenge this week are the colors Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo, and Azure Afternoon ... all Brights!

Look, Ma - NO STAMPS! I did something a little different this time and used all dies on the card. I started with the Dots & Spots die and cut a piece of Basic Black, and some scrap paper to use as a template. I used the template over a piece of Basic White and placed dots through the holes (using Stampin' Blends) where I wanted to add stripes of color. After removing the template, I filled in the stripes and adhered it to the back of the Basic Black piece and then to the card base.

The tag was cut with a Tailored Tags die and embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D folder (coming next week!), and the greeting cut from the Wanted to Say dies. I used the Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist Blends to add color to the Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly sheer ribbons. Didn't need to for the Azure Afternoon, haha. If you look closely, you'll see a few Adhesive-backed Glitter Sequins (also coming next week) that just happen to fit perfectly into the holes.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - For the Guys

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is For the Guys.

This is one of the cards we made last week in our monthly stamp club. The ladies always say they can use more guy cards, so this theme was the perfect opportunity to brush off Grassy Grove and get creating!

Did you notice there are two deer? (One is hiding behind the other.)

  • Top panel: 4" x 5 1/4" Crumb Cake, die cut with second largest Countryside Corners die and embossed with Timber 3D folder.
  • Inner frame: 3 3/4" x 5" Mossy Meadow cut with third largest die and adhered behind Crumb Cake, then popped up over background scene.
  • Background scene: 3 3/4" x 5" Basic White, stamped, sky colored with Blending Brush and adhered to Crumb Cake card base.
  • Deer and trees stamped, die cut, and adhered as shown.

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

CCMC781 - Thursday Sketch Challenge

The Thursday Challenge this week is a sketch, and I thought I'd have a little fun with it.

Instead of strips of cardstock or DSP for the background, I used Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP and pleated it to look like the strips in the sketch.

The DSP and the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon are on page 37 of the Sep-Dec mini catalog that will go live in less than two weeks! I love having white ribbon that can be colored with a Stampin' Blend to match my projects. I colored the rhinestones that are set on the snowflakes, too. 😊

This is a 5" x 5" square card.The Snowflake Sky 3D (pg. 23) embossed background is 4 3/4" x 4 3/4". The pleated strip started out 3 1/2" x 5" and was scored on the long side at 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/4", 2", 3", 3 1/4", 3 3/4" and 4".

Let me know if you need a copy of the Sep-Dec catalog!

Stamp Review Crew - Sweet Citrus

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Sweet Citrus edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you arrived here from Stacey's blog, welcome! There are eight of us today, so lots of citrus-y goodness to share!

Sweet Citrus first appeared in the '23 Jan-Apr mini catalog, and I was happy to see it carried over to the '23 Annual catalog. The eleven piece  photopolymer stamp set has a coordinating Hybrid Embossing Folder and dies.

Being a lover of margaritas, I chose limes for my card, but you can make lemons, oranges, grapefruit, or even coconuts with this set!

After stamping and cutting the citrus, I carefully pressed each piece face down on the VersaMark pad, then covered them with clear embossing powder and heat set them.

If you look closely you can see they look like juicy limes. Mmmmm, I do love limes! I think they're my favorite citrus fruit. Besides yummy margaritas, we squeeze 'em on fish tacos, or over crispy carnitas. (Dang, now I'm hungry and thirsty, lol.)

That's all I have to share for today, so click "Next" to see what Jay created, or "Previous" to visit Stacey again. Thanks for stopping by!

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - For the Ladies

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is For the Ladies. I think the images from the In the Moment stamp set are perfect for a gal pal card, don't you?

I started with a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Lost Lagoon and embossed it with the Basics 3D folder. After stamping and coloring the image, it was die cut with the largest stitched circle in the Stylish Shapes dies. (The sentiment and Pretty Peacock circles are the third-largest die.)

The Pretty Peacock circle was adhered to the Lost Lagoon rectangle and some linen thread was tied around before adhering that piece to the Pool Party card base. The image and sentiment were popped up on dimensionals and some copper sequins were added to match the dog's fur.

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

CCMC780 - Thursday Color Challenge

Today's Thursday Challenge is another color challenge, and when I first saw the colors I was surprised at how well they coordinated with each other. Of course, I had to go back to my love of florals for this one!

I pulled out Dainty Delight which hasn't gotten any love lately and stamped it in Basic Gray. I think, for some images anyway, Basic Gray is less harsh than black, and in this instance the gray works especially well with these colors.

I chose not to color the leaves, letting them be more of a background. And speaking of background, I was pretty pleased with how the three colors worked, not only with the blending brushed background that was embossed, but also the stacked cardstock. I think it turned out okay. 😊 Product List
