Bermuda Bay Birthday

Heart's Delight Cards, Altenew Peony Bouquet, Rose Wonder, Burlap, Sale-A-Bration Second Release 2018, Stampin' Up!

Contraband alert!!! I am known to (upon occasion) use stamps from other stamp companies. *gasp!* My friend Janine calls it "rubbadultery." I can't help it - there are so MANY beautiful stamps out there that I succumb to their lure sometimes. I make no apologies for my moments of weakness. Seriously, how can anyone resist some of the gorgeous floral images offered by Altenew?

This one is from the Peony Bouquet set, and is a four-step photopolymer stamp. It was easy to line it up and stamp accurately using the Stamparatus (you really need one when they become available June 1st!). Bermuda Bay seems to have taken my fancy these past few days. The solid base image and first detail image were stamped in Pool Party, and the outline and final detail image were done in Bermuda Bay.

Heart's Delight Cards, Altenew Peony Bouquet, Rose Wonder, Burlap, Sale-A-Bration Second Release 2018, Stampin' Up!

I did use some Stampin' Up! stamps here. The greeting is from Rose Wonder and the burlap fringe is from....wait for it....Burlap! Minimal fussy cutting involved. Using the Stampin' Trimmer, I cut around the image in a square, stopping just short of the leaves. Then all I had to fussy cut were the leaves. Saved my sanity, or whatever is left of it, LOL!

Time to Relax

Heart's Delight Cards, Petal Palette, Best Wishes, Stampin' Up!, Occasions 2018,

I finally had time to get back in the my "happy place" after the last two days of rushing to get Mom ready to go back home. The past two weeks just flew by, and I'd have loved it if she could have stayed longer, but she needs to see her doctor so I had to let her go.

This card is one of the ones I made for the Stamp Review Crew Petal Palette blog hop, but I didn't get the photo done and edited in time. Sometimes that last-minute-deadline-looming-mojo comes back to bite me in the behind, LOL.

Heart's Delight Cards, Petal Palette, Best Wishes, Stampin' Up!, Occasions 2018,

The bird is colored with Night of Navy, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay combo Stampin' Blends. I don't know what kind of bird he is (and obviously it's a male, because of the bright plumage), but I like him! He's perched on a branch borrowed from Colorful Seasons.

The pretty scalloped edging was made with the filigree die in the Petals & More Thinlits. I cut two of them, then split them lengthwise and glued them to the back of the mat. You have to look really hard to see the seam where they are joined to make them longer!

Control Freaks Celebrate - BIRTHDAYS!

Welcome to the February 2018 edition of the Tour de Freaks! This month we are celebrating birthdays, which is kind of appropriate for me because I have so many friends and family members with February birthdays!

If you started at the beginning of the hop, then you just landed here from Debbie's blog, Debbie's Designs.  If you are starting here, just follow the link at the bottom to go on to the next stop on the tour!

I have two completely different birthday cards to share today. My creativity has been all over the spectrum lately, and it shows with today's projects!  Up first is a bright, kind of "poke you in the eye" card using the Picture Perfect Party DSP as the starting point. I love the photographic imagery, and that the back sides are patterned paper.

Heart's Delight Cards, Picture Perfect Birthday, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!, Occasions 2018,

There were so many colors I could have pulled from the DSP, but I chose Lemon Lime Twist because there was a coordinating glimmer paper in the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper pack. I wanted that greeting to SPARKLE! It was cut three times in Lemon Lime Twist, the glimmer paper, and Basic Black, then glued together slightly offset. Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (cut in half) make it stand up off the back ground.

My next card is a little more subdued, but makes up for it with the cuteness factor!  I adore the birds in Bird Banter, and the greetings that come with it are equally cute! This card was made for a friend's hubby, who I just learned had a birthday a couple days ago.

Inside the card says, "Obviously, it wasn't an early bird." That just cracks me up! Anyway, I hope a parrot with a balloon and party hat gave him a smile, even though it was a bit late. It was fun coloring the images with Stampin' Blends. The balloon and party hat were fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals.

That's all I have for today - up next is Dawn Olchefske, over at Do Stamping with Dawn!

Stamp Review Crew - Petal Palette

Welcome to the latest edition of the Stamp Review Crew. This time we are playing with the pretty Petal Palette, which is not only a beautiful stamp set, but is part of a suite of items that are absolutely awesome! If you've been following the hop from the beginning, then you just landed here from Charlet's bog, Painted Orange. She always WOWs me; it's no wonder she's an Artisan Design Team member!

My project today uses SIX(!) of the stamps in Petal Palette, as well as three of the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits. I think that's the most stamps I've ever used on one card! There was a little bit of fussy cutting involved, too, since one of the floral sprigs didn't have a matching Thinlit.

A few days ago I discovered what fun it is to color on the glossy Springtime Foils Specialty DSP, part of the SAB 2nd Release. I remembered that I had a pack of Glossy White cardstock, so I used it for stamping and coloring the flowers. You really must try it - the colors flow on so smoothly, whether it's our Stampin' Blends, or Stampin' Write markers!

The rose bunch inside was stamped in Smoky Slate, stamped off twice for a shadow effect, and I did cheat just a little with the inside sentiment from Thankful Thoughts. It seemed perfect for this card!

Did you notice the "dew drops" on the rose petals? (If you zoom in you can see them.) Those are from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

That's all I have to share; thanks for joining me today! Up next is Deb Burgin, at Heartfelt Inkspiration. I love her clean style!
