SOTW - Inspiring Iris

Happy first day of March! Spring is right around the corner, and I've seen the first green shoots of daffodils and irises popping up around here. It won't be long until blossoms are open and bees are happily buzzing around. Today's card was inspired by the signs of Spring. I love irises - they remind me of my great grandmother's lovely irises and roses all around her house. Their scent takes my back to my childhood!

The irises were stamped twice - once on the image panel and once on a scrap with Basic Gray and colored with Highland Heather, Mango Melody, and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. The blooms on the scrap were fussy cut and popped up over the others, giving the look of a stand of irises in the garden.

Some Highland Heather was buffed onto Shimmery White cardstock with Blending Brushes and then the cardstock was embossed with the Tasteful Textures 3D folder. I borrowed the greeting from Springtime Joy (stamped in Gorgeous Grape) and added some leaves from the Dandy Laser-cut Paper behind the popped up image. And some Opal Rounds, of course!
