In Color Christmas

World Card Making Day may be over, but THE WCMD SALE continues for a few more days, so here is another way to use the beautiful envelope paper, and this time it's a Christmas card! The Dapper Denim patterned paper reminded me of snow falling at night which lead me to the Christmas theme.

This is another card that's not too hard to put together, and it uses items from the annual catalog. The Peaceful Pines stamp set and Perfect Pines Framelits will still be available long after the holiday catalog goodies have ended, so you can start next year's cards next Spring.

I have to admit, I did cheat on the snow a little bit with some "contraband" in the form of the Avery Elle Dotted Borders die. But you can duplicate the look by free hand cutting the curves and paper piercing the dots. The trees were die cut first, and then stamped and embossed, but if I were to do it again, I think I'd emboss first. It would be easier to line up the die over the embossed image.

Here's the "How To"
 Trees: Whisper White Thick 4" x 5-1/2"
 Snow: Whisper White Thick 1-3/4" x 5-1/2"
 DSP: 2016-2018 In Colors Envelope Paper 4" x 5-1/4"
Card base: Whisper White Thick 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored and folded at 4-1/4"
 Envelope: 2016-2018 In Colors Envelope Paper 8" x 8"
  1. Adhere In Color paper to card base. Cut curvy snow and adhere to card base. Stamp greeting in Dapper Denim on lower right. Note: Greeting is from Christmas Pines. Anything that will fit will do.
  2. Die cut trees using the three tree sizes in Perfect Pines Framelits. Rub with Embossing Buddy, then stamp corresponding tree images in VersaMark on each tree and heat emboss with silver embossing powder.
  3. Glue largest tree first, with liquid glue. Adhere middle tree using Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere smallest tree with Stampin Dimensionals (use liquid glue where it overlaps the middle tree).
  4. Follow guidelines on Envelope Punch Board to make envelope (first punch/score is at 3-1/2"). Use Tear & Tape to seal envelope when mailing.
