Falling Flowers Bundle

You may have noticed that when I pull out a stamp set, I make a couple (or several) cards with it before putting it away. This is one example. I had stamped and embossed the swirl when I was starting the butterfly card, but decided not to use it for that card. So here was a swirl, waiting to be used. I hopped on Pinterest for inspiration, and this card struck me. I did change quite a few things, but you can see the basic design elements are there.

Did you know you can heat emboss any color you want? All you have to do is ink up your stamp with VersaMark ink first, and then with any dye ink. Stamp the image and cover immediately with clear embossing powder. Tap off excess powder and heat set it. Note: Make sure you clean your stamp each time you use it.... you do NOT want to stamp your VersaMark pad with dye ink still on the stamp!!!

As mentioned before, the Falling Flowers stamp set and coordinating May Flowers Framelits will be carried over to the new catalog, but not as a discounted bundle. That way Stampin' Up! can offer new bundles in the new catalog. I counted twenty-four bundles!!!

Are you excited about the upcoming catalog release? I sure am, especially since I get to preorder things starting on Tuesday! *Happy dance!* If you have placed an order with me in the past six months, I will be sending you the new catalog within the next two weeks, so be on the lookout!

Something Old, Something New

When I saw the names of the new 2017-2019 In Colors, I felt kind of iffy about "Lemon Lime Twist", since I'm not much of a fan of bright yellow-green. But once I got my hands on it, and realized the possibilities, I've become a convert!

This thank you card combines Crazy About You, a retiring stamp set, and the retiring coordinating Flower Medallion Punch with two of the new In Colors, Fresh Fig and the aforementioned Lemon Lime Twist. A light sponging of LLT behind the flowers and greeting really makes them pop, don't you agree?

The large flower was punched and the two smaller flowers (stamped off once) were fussy cut, along with the popped-up leaves. The flower centers are Crushed Curry from the Regals Enamel Shapes which, I am happy to say, IS carrying over!

The list below is what is current and/or retiring.....no new things to link yet! Retiring items are in red.

Long Live Lovely as a Tree!

This morning's Easter sunrise was absolutely glorious, and it inspired me to make this card. Our trees aren't fully leafed out yet, so it looked something like this.

As I am sure some of you have noticed by now, Lovely as a Tree is being carried over again! I think that makes something like twelve years it's been around. It is certainly the one of longest-lived Stampin' Up! stamp sets that I know of, along with Teeny Tiny Wishes. And rightfully so! My own sets of those two are old enough that they were before the clear mount option was available, so mine are wood mount. Of course, they are available in either configuration now.

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday! We worked in the garden until the rain started, then scurried onto the porch. Well, scurried may be a bit of an exaggeration; it was more like a fast shuffle, haha.

Another Sneak Peek at Eastern Palace

Here is a different peek at some of the other elements in the Eastern Palace Suite. This is one of the new 2017-2019 In Colors, called Fresh Fig. I made a little comparison below, so you can see the difference between it, Sweet Sugarplum, and Rich Razzleberry. It is similar to Rich Razz, but with a little more of a dusky undertone.

Those Eastern Medallions Thinlits are so much fun to play with, because you can combine them in a wonderful variety of ways, and the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers add a quick touch of gold elegance. I was originally just going to use the die cut with the greeting, but felt it needed some sort of embellishment. Bing, bang, boom....peeled a few stickers and figured out where I wanted them before popping the die cut medallion up on dimensionals on the card. Can you tell I'm having fun with this new suite?

By the way, the Elegant Butterfly Punch that I used is one of the retiring items, but is still available as of this blog post. If you want it, better get it soon!

Oh So Succulent Farewell

I was oh, so sad to see that Oh So Succulent is on the retiring list. I think I've gotten more use out of this bundle than any other bundle in recent memory. It seemed to be very popular, too, judging from all the pins on Pinterest. With the exception of the ink, everything on this card is retiring. I don't understand why..... just give me a minute......

Okay, I've pulled myself back together. Mr. Brown is bringing some goodies to me this afternoon that will help. I got to pre-preorder the Eastern Palace Suite that is going to be in the new catalog, and it will be available for anyone to preorder starting May 1st! More info on that later, because I'm off to get ready for stamp club tomorrow. Have to design three card projects for my ladies. Thanks for stopping by today!
