Some Emily Dickinson for SOS272 & CASology 218

This go-round it was my BFF's turn to choose the challenges, and she picked Shopping Our Stash #272 (bird or feather theme), and CASology, whose cue word is Support, in honor of this being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. When I think cancer, I think hope, and immediately this poem from Emily Dickinson came to mind.

I used to have a Stampin' Up! stamp that had this portion of the poem, but I can't find it, or any of my other wood mount stamps for that matter. I'm hoping they're in a box that was put in one of the sheds by accident, and not completely lost in the move. But I digress....

Anyhoo, I printed it from the computer onto cardstock, and just pretended that I stamped it. The feathers were stamped, so that counts, right?

So many of my friends and family have had to deal with cancer. Some have fought bravely and defeated it, and some fought bravely and lost the battle. I hope and pray that there will be a major breakthrough in treating and curing not just breast cancer, but all forms of cancer, in my lifetime. One can HOPE, right?

NOTE: The Four Feathers stamp set and matching Feathers Framelits are retired now, but everything else is current.

  2. Just wonderful! So well done. The embossed background compliments the black DP amazingly... and rhetorical question here: is there a better quote in thus situation??? Excellent. Thank you for sharing at SOS.

    1. Thank you, Joyce! It was either print it, or spend a whole weekend in the shed trying to find that box....I'd rather be stamping!
