NUMBER ONE THOUSAND! (And Blog Candy!)

This makes the one thousandth post on my little ol' blog!

I had no idea what I was doing or where I was going with it when I started back in 2008, but since then I've become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, made many new stamping friends, "bought the farm" and moved clear across the country (no, really!), rescued a dog from the shelter and a kitten someone dumped by a bridge. It's been a wild ride, and I wouldn't change a minute of it!

To celebrate the occasion, I'm giving away a little blog candy. The card above was made using some of of the products in the giveaway, so there's a little bit of inspiration for you! The winner will receive a sample pack of the not yet available 2017 Sale-A-Bration Carried Away DSP (six sheets 4" x 5-1/4", enough for six cards), a roll of Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon, Christmas Bliss stamp set (retired), and one package each of Rhinestones Basic Jewels and Brights Candy Dots.

Winner will be drawn by using a random number generator, and will be announced Friday evening, the day after Thanksgiving. (Wait, what? It's almost Thanksgiving already?!)  Please read the following "fine print."
  • To enter, leave a comment telling me what you like about my blog, or what you'd like to see more of. (More CAS cards, or more elaborate ones? More "How Tos"? More photo instructions? More techniques?)
  • Entries must be received before 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on Friday 11/25.
  • One entry per person, please. Duplicates will be disqualified.
  • Note: Comment moderation is turned on, so if you don't see yours right away, wait a few hours for me to see and approve it - don't comment again thinking it didn't work!
  • Stampin' Up! regulations prevent me from shipping product outside the Unites States, so this contest is only open to U.S. residents. Sorry, I didn't make the rules!
  • Prize winner has until midnight Monday, Nov. 28 to contact me with their mailing address, otherwise prize is forfeited and I'll draw another winner.
FYI, the other items used in this card are from the Lift Me Up bundle, which includes the stamp set of the same name and the Up & Away Thinlits dies, coming soon to an Occasions catalog near you! If you need one, let me know.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow because the Stampin' Up! Online Extravaganza begins!

  1. Congrats! One thousands posts is awesome. I have only been following the blog for a few months, but I love it! My favorite part is that you give the measurements and how to making it easier to CASE. Thanks Cindy!

    1. I hoped you would, Becky. I know the message inside was kind of mushy, but I was pouring out my heart when I wrote it. ❤️

  4. I absolutely LOVE your blog! If you twisted my arm for me to ask for something more, I would have to say more photo instruction, especially with the more difficult steps. You KNOW how bad I am at remembering techniques! Keep the ideas coming!

    1. Susie, CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything. I wondered the same thing when I started card making....what do all these acronyms mean?!

  7. About your blog! I check it every day even those that start with "T" just to make sure I do not miss anything. I like that you provide dimensions and shopping list of products used. And I like that you are blogging more consistantly. Only suggestion I can think of is to maybe provide more detail on some of the more difficult directions. And pictures are always welcome. One more suggestions is to keep up the good work! The cards you create gets me interested in products that I might generally over look. You inspire!

    1. Joyce, I'm so sorry, I don't...and I already sent it to someone so I can't take measurements! I know the DSP is from the free Sale-A-Bration pack. The balloon is Night of Navy, with Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Marina Mist, and Mint Macaron behind it. I hope that helps!

    2. Thanks Cindy! Knowing the colors helps a lot! I love this card. The balloon just pops and the colors behind coordinate so well. Thanks for sharing!
