Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is birthday! It doesn't matter what time of year it is, birthday cards are needed year-round. I made a fabulous card to show off next week's pre-release Eden's Garden set. When I was finished I realized I had used the wrong set that won't be available until January! D'oh! *smacks forehead* So, I'll save that one for another day and show you THIS one, with the proper set! (Just a bit distracted - Mom was having surgery for invasive melanoma as I was making the cards.)
The greenery was stamped in Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent on Basic White, and Soft Succulent was also brushed on the cardstock for subtle color. After cutting with the Stitched Rectangle, it was adhered on top of the Macrame 3D embossed background. The small Eden wreath die was used to cut the DSP wreath, which was added on top of the stamped panel.
After cutting 5" lengths of the ribbons, I tied a piece of gold trim around the middle, then folded them in half and held them in place with glue dots. Two leaf sprigs were cut from gold foil and added on top. The leafy banner was cut from Evening Evergreen with "BIRTHDAY" heat embossed in white. The gold "Happy" was glued on, then the banner was popped up on double dimensionals (accounting for the thickness of the ribbons). Gilded Gems completed the card!
That's my share for today. Libby is still helping out her mom, so click the Next button to jump over to Debbie at Debbie Henderson Designs, or the Back button to see what Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner has made!
