Thinking of Colorful Seasons

I can't seem to drag myself away from the Colorful Seasons bundle for very long. There are so many other fun new things to play with, but I keep coming back to this! Today I thought I'd play with the embossing paste and decorative masks on page 201 of the catalog. I wanted to add a brick wall behind the Adirondack chair. I have to say, it was a lot of fun, and went much more smoothly than I had anticipated!

It was easy to spread the embossing paste in a thin even layer over the brick stencil - not unlike frosting a cake, except you scrape the excess "frosting" off. (And don't lick the spatula, haha!) While the bricks were drying, I hurriedly washed off the stencil and palette knife, because that stuff dries quickly!

After the bricks were dry, I used my Soft Suede sponge and lightly buffed some color on the bricks. I didn't even dab it on the ink pad first; there was enough residual ink in the sponge. Speaking of sponges, this is how I have mine set up. I cut a whole sponge into sixths, staple the coordinating cardstock color on as a "handle", and store them by color collection in the half size wood mount cases. By the way, all the cases ARE available, they just inadvertently left them out of the new catty. Whaaaat?!

But I digress.....another way to add color to the embossing paste is to scoop some out on a Silicone Craft Sheet, add a drop or two of ink refill, and smoosh it around with a palette knife until it's thoroughly mixed. Cool, huh? Think of the possibilities!

So, that's my card for today. No time for the "How To" because I have to get ready for tomorrow's stamp club!
