Lovely You SOTW, Once Again

Today's card is a perfect example of a CAS (Clean and Simple) card. CAS is usually defined as having one main image, it is uncluttered with lots of open space, has limited layers or embellishments, and is easy and quick to recreate. I think this card sums it up!

I started by blending Soft Sea Foam onto the card base with a Blending Brush, then stamped the smallest image on top with S.S.F. stamped off. I wanted just a hint of the image in the background.

The flower was colored with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin' Write markers - direct to stamp technique. It was cut with an oval die, then matted on a Blackberry Bliss scalloped oval and popped up on dimensionals over the Blackberry Bliss ribbon.

Feb. 28 Stamp of the Week - Inspiring Iris

First of all, my apologies for missing the SOTW last Sunday. Things got crazy busy here, and although I had some projects to share, I didn't have time to photograph, edit the pics, and write the blog posts. So this week's SOTW is what I had planned to share last week.

The first card (of four this week!) is just simple stamping - stamps, ink and paper. I did add a bow for embellishment, but there is no special tool needed to make a bow!

I think the floral image looks like a wild rose, and with this stamp set you get line images that you can either color yourself, or use the filler stamps as I did here. The fillers aren't an exact match to the line images, so you don't have to fret if you "color" outside the lines. They're meant to be that way!

I used some retired DSP on the card, but the current Subtles DSP is listed in the product list below.

Measurements

  • DSP: Balmy Blue 4" x 5-1/4"

  • Mat: Night of Navy 3" x 4-1/4"

Heart to Heart

Here's another card using this week's SOTW, Heart to Heart. Tulips are my daughter's favorite flower, and these blossoms are reminiscent of tulips, so they were just the ticket for this card. Those Resin Hearts Embellishments were colored with a Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blend. Customizing embellies is so easy with Stampin' Blends!

Since this particular set doesn't have a birthday greeting, I inked up just one sentiment of the Many Messages stamp using a Stampin' Spot and Mossy Meadow ink refill. Those Stampin' Spots are so handy for this purpose, or when you're using a smaller stamp on the Stamparatus so you don't get ink everywhere.

The DSP background is one of the patterns in the free Sale-a-Bration pack called Paper Blooms. Lots of pretty patterns in that DSP!
