Feb. 28 Stamp of the Week - Inspiring Iris

First of all, my apologies for missing the SOTW last Sunday. Things got crazy busy here, and although I had some projects to share, I didn't have time to photograph, edit the pics, and write the blog posts. So this week's SOTW is what I had planned to share last week.

The first card (of four this week!) is just simple stamping - stamps, ink and paper. I did add a bow for embellishment, but there is no special tool needed to make a bow!

I think the floral image looks like a wild rose, and with this stamp set you get line images that you can either color yourself, or use the filler stamps as I did here. The fillers aren't an exact match to the line images, so you don't have to fret if you "color" outside the lines. They're meant to be that way!

I used some retired DSP on the card, but the current Subtles DSP is listed in the product list below.

Measurements

  • Card base: Night of Navy 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  • DSP: Balmy Blue 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Image panel: Basic White 2-3/4" x 4"
  • Mat: Night of Navy 3" x 4-1/4"

Thanks for EVERYTHING

Yet another thank you card sent this week to a stamping friend, one who is more like a sister (you know who you are, Becky)! This one used the bonus free stamp set we received with this month's Paper Pumpkin kit. It's called All About Everything and it's so cute with lots of ways to combine the greetings. If you aren't a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you missed out!

Unfortunately, in my haste to get it in the mail, I forgot to take measurements so I can't give you the "How To." Bad Cindy!

Edited to add: AND BECKY'S MOM FOR THE WIN!!! She took the measurements, so here they are:

White Image 4 1/4 x 2 3/4
Matte 4 3/8 x 2 7/8
White Emboss 5 3/8 x 2 1/16

Thank you, Jackie!!!

So Sweet Stamping

I am head-over-heels in love with everything in the Sale-A-Bration flyer, as well as everything in the Occasions Catalog. How does Stampin' Up! keep topping itself with each new catalog release?! I don't know, but I am sure happy they do, even if my wallet isn't, lol!

Case in point......the gorgeous Lotus Blossom stamp set (SAB flyer, pg. 7). It says Two-Step Stamping, but really it's three steps, which gives it a beautiful depth. And because it's a photopolymer (completely clear) stamp, it's easy to line up each step of stamping. (Note: I left the greeting off, so I can add it later when I need it.)

And don't even get me started on the Irresistably Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (SAB flyer, pg. 15)! It's twelve sheets (two each of 6 designs) of white cardstock with the designs clear-embossed on it. It's perfect for the emboss-resist technique, either by sponging, spritzing, brayering, or coloring with markers! Sooooo many ways to use this. In fact, we will be using it on one of the New Catalog Open House projects on January 11th.
From Millan.Net
Hope to see you there. If you can't make it and would like your very own copy of the Occasions Catalog and SAB flyer, please let me know and I will mail one right out!

Hello!

Another quick card, using scraps sitting on my desk.  I was starting to clean up from the photos I took for a tutorial for my newsletter, and I thought I'd use the image I had made.  There was already a scrap of Old Olive embossed with polka-dots, so I embossed a scrap of More Mustard to match, slapped them on a Chocolate Chip mat, added the ribbon (Martha Stewart) and tag, and voila, a quick, cute card using leftovers!

Have I mentioned lately how much I like "quick and easy?"  :-D

Stamps: Flower Fancy (111578), Tiny Tags (W-118091, C-118592)
Cardstock: Very Vanilla (101650), More Mustard (100946), Old Olive (100702), Chocolate Chip (102128)
Ink: Basic Black (101179), Chocolate Chip (100908)
Accessories: Linen Thread (104199), Jewelry Tag Punch (117190), Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Regals 119803, Brights 119804), Perfect Polka-Dots Embossing Folder (117335), Big Shot (113439), water mist sprayer, ribbon

Fund Raiser Cards and Boxes!

Here are a few more cards for the fundraiser, along with the box they will go with.  The first two are thank you cards, and the second two are friendship/thinking of you cards.
I wanted  to make each one unique, yet somewhat a matched set, so I mixed up the designer paper backgrounds, stamped images, and colors a bit.
The box was so fun to make, and really has a WOW factor, I think. I got the instructions from Sudsol, posted there by the very talented Sandi McIver.  She used the Haiku DSP from a while back, so I just changed it to Tea Party DSP.
I'm going to miss the retiring designer papers, but at the same time, I am soooo excited to play with the new papers that are coming out soon!

The box below is for the cards I posted on June 1st.
