CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Goodbye Sale-a-Bration

In today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop we are bidding a fond farewell to Stampin' Up!'s first ever 2nd Sale-a-Bration! I chose the totally adorable Penguin Playmates DSP that coordinates with the Penguin Place bundle because the critters are just too cute!

While the Penguin Builder Punch does punch out one of the penguin images in the DSP, I wanted to use a different penguin and his big white Polar bear buddy. So I fussy cut them both and used two of the other DSP patterns for the background.

 

Just Jade is one of the colors in the Penguin Playmates DSP, and it coordinates beautifully with Shaded Spruce, which I used for a little added pop. In fact, I think they are the same color, just different shades! (If you stamp off Shaded Spruce ink several times, it becomes Just Jade.) 😉

 

 

The Wonderful Snowflakes embellishment behind the Polar bear was colored (on the back side) with a dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blend. I used the largest stitched scallop die for the dotted background and the next size smaller (x 2) for the Shaded Spruce accents behind it. The smallest scalloped square fit the greeting perfectly, an those Evening Evergreen jewels are a close enough match to add some sparkle!
