Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is our favorite Designer Series Paper from the new catalog. I freely admit to being a
paper hoarder curator of an extensive paper collection because I love nearly all the pretty patterns that Stampin' Up! comes up with. So naturally I had a hard time narrowing it down to just one! After careful consideration, I went with the gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP (iridescent & shiny!), and the Whimsical Trees bundle that is part of that suite.
Non-traditional Christmas colors appeal to me, and the Polished Pink in the background DSP made it easy to choose the colors for this card. After stamping and die cutting the greeting, I stamped the trees on some scrap cardstock and used the Christmas Trees dies to cut them out. The larger tree's ornaments were blank, so I added dots of Polished Pink with the blunt end of the Stampin' Blend.
I wanted the trees to stand out a little more, so Polished Pink ink was added to the tag with a Blending Brush. I colored that snowflake with the Dark Polished Pink Stampin' Blend! SEE HINT BELOW*
The background DSP measures 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" and the Polished Pink mat measures 3-11/16" x 4-15/16".
*Handy hint: For stability, leave the snowflake attached to the backing paper and carefully color the back side
of the snowflake with side of the brush end of the Stampin' Blend. The color will bleed through
to the shiny side! Let it dry, and then pop it out. It is such a quick,
easy way to add some color. And don't throw away the backing - there is enough left over to die cut smaller pieces from that pretty shiny paper!
