...and the stepped up version of last Saturday's post! After I posted it and inspiration struck, I went right to work and created this fancy-schmancy Ferrero Rocher treat holder.
That gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock sure makes it a lot more elegant! It almost perfectly matches the gold foil-wrapped goodies inside.
I used Very Vanilla Thick cardstock for the base as well as the poinsettia. The greenery was leftover pieces from a Sweetest Borders die cut. My box o' useful bits comes in handy sometimes!
And now, without further ado, here's the tutorial. You will need:
- 4-3/4" x 5-3/8" heavy cardstock for base
- 3-1/2" x 7-3/4" coordinating DSP for outer wrap
- 1-5/8" x 3" Window Sheet
- Simply Scored Scoring Tool, or something similar
- Paper Snips
- Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Layering Circles Dies, Stitched Nested Labels Dies
- Tear & Tape adhesive and Mini Glue Dots
For the base, place short side at top of Simply Scored tool - score at 5/8" and 4-1/8".
Rotate so long side is at top of score board. Score at 5/8", 2-3/8", 3", and 4-3/4".
Fold on all score lines, then trim off corner squares and cut into score lines at the sides, as shown.
Cut holes for the treats using the second smallest (1-3/8") circle die. This side will become the top of the base.
Add Tear & Tape adhesive to the three flaps around the top (holey side) of the base. (Click on picture for a more detailed view.)
Fold side flaps in, bottom flaps up, and adhere top flaps over all.
For outer wrap, place long side of DSP at top of score board, with the side you want showing face down. Score at 5/8", 2-3/8/', 3", 4-3/4", 5-3/8", and 7-1/8". I forgot to take a photo of this step, but you can see the score lines in the pic below, after cutting the window with the third-smallest label die.
Attach Window Sheet to inside with glue dots.
Add Tear & Tape adhesive to bottom sides of outer wrap, place base inside and adhere in place.
Now you're ready to add the candy, seal the top and decorate as you wish!
I hope the instructions were clear enough! If you have any trouble, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll try to clarify.
