Welcome to another edition of the My Inky Friends blog hop! This time we are featuring products from the newly released Holiday catalog, and hoooo boy was it hard for me to decide which product I wanted to showcase - so many beautiful shiny squirrels, LOL! I finally decided on the Winter Woods bundle....those trees just keep calling me back.
I'm the first stop on the hop, but you may have landed here from Paula Wright's blog, Stampin' With Paula. She sure made me re-think that Cauldron Bubble bundle.....it just might fall into my cart on my next order!
I've been on a somewhat CAS kick lately, and this black, white, and silver card is no exception. While there are several layers (not truly CAS), the layout is stark and simple.
I had wanted to use a retired label Framelit, but we really are supposed to use current products, so I cut the Silver foil into a frame before embossing it with the Subtle Dynamic TIEF. I do love that subtle bit of texture!
After the card was finished, I realized I could have simplified the process by just cutting a piece of black cardstock the size of the frame opening and layering it on top, instead of going to all the trouble of cutting the center out of the frame. *smacks forehead*
I only had time to do this one project, unfortunately, because I had several more great ideas. Guess I'll have to save them for another time!
Up next is the very talented Mary Haugen at Center Stage Stamping. She's featuring another favorite of mine, Wishing You Well, and I'm sure she's going to make you want that stamp set, too!

DeleteJust stunning, Cindy! I have this set and I haven't even really had a chance to play with it yet. Love how you textured to silver foil. I hadn't thought to do that, but I do love that TIEF.

DeleteSuch an elegant card, Cindy! It is a crystal beauty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Cindy! I often find CAS are one of the harder things to do. Your sense of design and balance make this look effortless!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Betty! I struggle with it myself. I keep thinking “this needs something” and adding until it’s not CAS anymore.
