Color Revamp and Retiring Core Colors

I know the Inky Friends just did a hop highlighting the retiring 2016-2018 In Colors. Those didn't come as a surprise, since we know they only stay for two years. And I know that every few years Stampin' Up! refreshes their color collection to stay on trend. That's a very good thing! I am really excited about the new colors that are coming. It's the artist in me....I can't help loving ALL colors!

But I must say I was a little teeny bit surprised at a few of the retiring colors. Specifically Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, and Wild Wasabi.

Do you have any of the retiring colors* in your ink pad collection? If so, you should seriously consider getting ink refills for them soon. They are only guaranteed to be available through May 7th, and then "while supplies last" through May 31st. These are usually the first things that sell out, for obvious reasons!

A word about the new ink formulation: You can use the new formula ink with the built in de-foamer on your old style pads, so there is no need to replace your old foam pads that are carrying over. It would eventually replace all the old ink on the pad so you'd get the benefit of smoother coverage without the bubbles. You can also use the old formula ink on the new pads, but why would you want to? It would defeat the purpose of the added de-foamer! NOTE: The exception to this is Basic Gray. Do not use the old Archival ink refill on the new style Basic Gray pad - it will ruin the foam pad!

I plan to get the new colors when they are available, and gradually replace the old style pads as they wear out. No need to spend a bunch of my stamp money on ink pads when there are so many other goodies in the new catalog to spend it on!
