Sharing Sweet Thoughts

I just got the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set, which is totally adorable, and right in line with my love for canning jars, butterflies, and strawberries - oh yes, definitely strawberries!  It's this year's Ronald MacDonald House Charity set. Three dollars from every sale is donated to RMHC (over $1.5 Million so far!), which is yet another reason I love being associated with Stampin' Up!

I went looking for some inspiration, and the very first place I looked was the Global Design Project challenge blog. And what did I see as the inspiration card? THIS!

How perfect is that?! After stamping the jar, stem, and ladybugs (plus an extra to fussy cut), I colored them, then added a die cut window sheet "jar" to make it look like glass. There are hidden glue dots under the lid and greeting banner holding it in place.

The lid was stamped on a scrap of Gold Foil Sheet and allowed to dry completely before die cutting it. I'm glad I only had to fussy cut ONE ladybug.....those six legs and two antennae were a pain in the you-know-what! But I just had to have one popped up, making a break for it!

I've been enjoying Mom's visit, but it's very apparent she's getting more frail, which makes my heart heavy. She will be 82 next month, so I guess it's to be expected, just that I don't want to accept it. *Sigh*

Another thing I don't want to accept is our wonderful neighbor, who was the first person to come and introduce himself when we moved here, is home from the hospital and under hospice care. I know what that means, and that makes my heart heavy, too. I'm sending this card to his wife.

Sorry I'm such a Debbie Downer today. I try to avoid unpleasant things, but sometimes they can't be avoided. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! The remains of tropical storm Cindy (heh-heh) have blown through and given us much-appreciated rain with no wind damage. Now the sun is out and the garden is happy. Yippee!
