CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Giving Thanks

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is Thanksgiving and gratitude. Although I count my blessings year-round, this is the time of year I really appreciate my many blessings. A roof over my head, family and friends nearby, good health, and a new puppy that's a sweetheart of a handful.... *wink*

I wanted to keep it fairly simple today, so I chose the Love of Leaves stamp set and Stitched Leaves dies. A quarter sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed with the Timeworn Type folder, then die cut with a Stitched Rectangle die and the Stitched Leaves outline die.

 

I heat embossed (gold) the large leaf on another piece of Very Vanilla and trimmed it down to fit behind the die cut layer. The top layer was adhered with dimensionals to the heat embossed layer and then glued to the Soft Suede card base.

I'm so sad to see that the Heartfelt Wishes greeting set is going to retire! I love its large scripty font; it really makes a statement. The greeting was stamped on Very Vanilla with Soft Suede ink, matted on some more Soft Suede cardstock and popped up on dimensionals. (I'm happy to see the Brushed Metallic Dots are carrying over!)

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Fall Leaves

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is Fall Leaves, and boy have they been falling here! I had the bright idea to use some real leaves and cut them with the Stitched Leaves Dies, but it didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. So on to Plan B - cardstock leaves!

The 3-3/4" x 5" embossed Pale Papaya background is popped up on dimensionals. The greeting was heat embossed on a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Cajun Craze and adhered, then three 3/4" x 3-7/8" strips of DSP (Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze) were glued on top with the left sides even with the embossed background.

 

The leaves were die cut from Pale Papaya and colored with a Water Painter and ink. They were then over-painted with clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer and popped up on dimensionals. A few Bumblebee Matte Decorative Dots completed the card.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - All About Fall

 

 

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is ALL about FALL, my favorite time of year! I combined an old favorite (Stitched Leaves Dies) with some new goodies to create this card.

The 3" x 4-1/4" Cinnamon Cider cardstock was embossed with the Timber 3D folder and adhered to a white card base.

After brushing the fall colors on the cardstock, the leaves were die cut and adhered to the brushed metallic-framed cork. (Third and fourth largest stitched rectangles created the frame.) Then all were adhered to the card base. The sentiment was cut with the smallest stitched rectangle and three brushed metallic dots were added.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - On the Table

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is "On the Table" and the first thing I thought of was a jar of flowers....and we just happen to have a stamp of the same name!

I used the So Saffron DSP for the background because it really reminds me of kitchen wallpaper, and the country kitchen wood plank "table" is from the In Good Taste DSP.

I have to apologize for my post being late. This week completely got away from me and I thought today was Friday. I had the card in my head, but not actually made when I got the reminder that my post wasn't up. EEK!

Stamp Review Crew - Beauty of Friendship

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Beauty of Friendship edition! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Lou's blog, With a Bow on Top, welcome! Weren't her projects awesome?! There are only four of us today, so the hop won't take too long, but it's sure to be inspiring!

The Beauty of Friendship photopolymer stamp set has 13 pieces with a coordinating 9 piece Beautiful Trees die set. I love the sentiments that are included, as well as the beautiful trees. Since today is Labor Day (here in the United States), it marks the unofficial end of summer, even though autumn is still a few weeks away. And while it may still be summer, I am definitely seeing some signs of fall around here, and that inspired my first card.

It's fascinating to me how the colors change as autumn progresses. First the green leaves turn more of an olive green, then more yellow/gold. After that comes the oranges and then the reds. This card is showing the first hints of the new season with bits of Bumblebee added over the Mossy Meadow tree.

The vellum background was embossed with the Timber 3D folder and some Brushed Metallic Dots completed the card.

The next card has moved deeper into autumn and is showing off the oranges, reds, and russets. The "leaves" were die cut from one of the patterns in the Beauty of the Earth DSP.

I love the background DSP, too, which is embossed with the Tasteful Textiles 3D folder. It's so pretty, you could just add a greeting and nothing else, and it would still be spectacular!

The greeting is popped up over a gold bow from the Simply Elegant Trim.

Tutorial Tuesday - Encircled in Friendship

Isn't this card just swoon-worthy? I love the subtle colors of the Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP and how the bright floral accent catches your eye!

Supplies:
•    Stamp Sets: Encircled in Friendship (155408)
•    Cardstock: Basic White (159276), Vellum (101856)
•    Ink: Jet Black Stazon (101406), Old Olive (147090), Calypso Coral (147101)
•    Tools & Accessories: Encircled in Beauty Dies (155546), Simply Elegant Trim (155766), Blender Pen (102845), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)
•    DSP:  Expressions in Ink (1455464), Gold Metallic (156844)

Measurements:  
•    Card Base: Basic White 4 ¼” x 11”
•    Cardstock #1: Vellum ¾” x 4”
•    DSP #1: Expressions in Ink 4” x 5 ¼”
•    DSP #2: Gold Metallic 4” x 4”

Instructions:
•    Cut a 4 ¼” x 11” Basic White card base. Fold in half.
•    Cut a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of DSP and adhere to the card front.
•    Cut a medallion from Gold Metallic paper and adhere to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
•    Stamp the sentiment onto Vellum cardstock using Jet Black Stazon ink.
•    Trim to size and adhere to the doily using glue dots.
•    On a scrap of Basic White cardstock, stamp (2) flowers using Jet Black Stazon ink.
•    Color the flowers using Calypso Coral ink and Blender pen.
•    Color the stems & leaves using Old Olive ink and Blender pen. Cut flowers out.
•    Adhere the flowers to the left side of the doily using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
•    Tie a bow in the gold trim and adhere to the flowers using a glue dot.

Stamp Review Crew - Butterfly Brilliance

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Butterfly Brilliance edition! If you landed here from Lou's blog, With a Bow on Top, welcome! There are five of us today, so the hop won't take too long, but it's sure to be inspiring!

Butterfly Brilliance is interesting in that it's a single cling stamp, like a background stamp, with all the butterfly images in one. It has a 12 piece die set that matches called Brilliant Wings, and of course if you buy them together, you save 10% on the bundle. You can cut them all out at once with the outline die and then add the detailed dies on top if you want.

I have three cards to share today, and all of them use Inspired Thoughts for the greetings, since Butterfly Brilliance doesn't have any sentiments. I'll start with the simple CAS one.

Sometimes it's best to keep it simple with a sympathy card, and this couldn't get much simpler. I brushed a Coastal Cabana background on the card base, then added spatters with the matching Stampin' Write Marker.

The butterfly was die cut from Be Dazzling Specialty Paper (SAB item) and popped up on dimensionals.

The greeting was stamped in Gray Granite for a subtle look. I thought black would be too harsh. The next card is a bit more cheerful! It also uses some SAB paper (Beautifully Penned), but I added a bit of yellow to the black & white background with a sponge dauber to match the swallowtail butterfly.

The seam binding ribbon was colored with a Stampin' Blend, and almost didn't make it onto the card...I caught the orange furry feline carrying it off when my back was turned. Little stinker! There's a strip of Tear & Tape with Gold Leafing behind the ribbon.

The greeting was heat embossed and die cut with the Messages Die. I think the black, white, and yellow color combination is so cheerful!

The last card is so striking in real life, and I just could not get a decent photo of it! What looks like black is really Blackberry Bliss and it looks so awesome with the vellum toned-down Daffodil Delight background.

The butterfly was die cut from the new Blackberry Beauty DSP and the splatter die was used to let the gold mat peek through in a couple places.

A bit of Gold Shimmer Ribbon tied the Blackberry Bliss greeting in with the card.
