Recently a stamping friend lost her mother, unexpectedly. Not that knowing it's coming ever makes it any easier, but a sudden death is especially hard. I didn't have any sympathy cards in my stash, so I needed to make a quick one that was both simple and elegant.
I really liked the look of the heat embossed Flourish Filigree on this card, so I decided to emboss it in white on Gray Granite and add a Fresh Fig mat. It was exactly the look I had hoped for.
The greeting is from Flourishing Phrases and was punched with the Pretty Label Punch. It's hard to see in the photo, but there is also a Subtle embossed background. No embellishments; it didn't really need any. By the way, Flourish Filigree is one of the retiring stamps.
