Welcome to the February 2018 edition of the Tour de Freaks! This month we are celebrating birthdays, which is kind of appropriate for me because I have so many friends and family members with February birthdays!
If you started at the beginning of the hop, then you just landed here from Debbie's blog, Debbie's Designs. If you are starting here, just follow the link at the bottom to go on to the next stop on the tour!
I have two completely different birthday cards to share today. My creativity has been all over the spectrum lately, and it shows with today's projects! Up first is a bright, kind of "poke you in the eye" card using the Picture Perfect Party DSP as the starting point. I love the photographic imagery, and that the back sides are patterned paper.
There were so many colors I could have pulled from the DSP, but I chose Lemon Lime Twist because there was a coordinating glimmer paper in the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper pack. I wanted that greeting to SPARKLE! It was cut three times in Lemon Lime Twist, the glimmer paper, and Basic Black, then glued together slightly offset. Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (cut in half) make it stand up off the back ground.
My next card is a little more subdued, but makes up for it with the cuteness factor! I adore the birds in Bird Banter, and the greetings that come with it are equally cute! This card was made for a friend's hubby, who I just learned had a birthday a couple days ago.
Inside the card says, "Obviously, it wasn't an early bird." That just cracks me up! Anyway, I hope a parrot with a balloon and party hat gave him a smile, even though it was a bit late. It was fun coloring the images with Stampin' Blends. The balloon and party hat were fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals.
That's all I have for today - up next is Dawn Olchefske, over at Do Stamping with Dawn!
Absolutely love your cards! Bird Banter is one of my favorite sets.
ReplyDeleteLove your cute Bird Banter card. I haven't played with my stamp set yet, but you gave me a darling idea to get me inspired.
