Southern Serenade, the Set


This is the set of cards I was talking about a few days ago. They are all simple, unless you make a mistake and have to cover it up, LOL. The flowers were stamped with Memento ink, then colored with the various markers listed below.


I then matched them with coordinating DSP that is, unfortunately, retired. I really, really hope Stampin' Up! comes out with DSP stacks in the color families again. It's so handy to have the exact color I need, and not have to hunt through different suites of DSP to try to find the color I want, if it's even available.


The lace was stamped at the top edge of the lower DSP piece, giving it the appearance of lace trim wrapped around the paper. Helpful hint: the lace stamp isn't long enough to stamp the whole width of the DSP, so stamp from the middle toward each side. If it overlaps in the center, it won't matter, because it will be covered up when you're done!

 Mat: Basic Black 2-3/4" x 4-1/4"
 Background DSP: I used retired DSP 4" x 5-1/4" and 2-1/4" x 4"
 Card base: Whisper White Thick 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
