Southern Serenade

Southern Serenade, Stampin' Up!, Vertical Greetings

Today was the monthly stamping get-together at my friend's house, and she let me play with her Southern Serenade stamp set. Of course, I love it because it's a pretty floral design that I get to COLOR!

I discovered that the background lace patterned stamp mimics the general outline of the flower sprig. Since I was using Stampin' Blends to color, I had to use Memento black ink to stamp the image. I wanted a softer black lace background, so I stamped the lace off once before stamping the background. I like the look!

I added some Tutti-Frutti DSP to the card base, and then the lace background (on a black mat). The flower stem did take a bit of fussy-cutting, which left me wishing we had a die for it! But I think it was worth the effort so the background could show through. The flowers were popped up on mini dimensionals. A few pearls and a Calypso Coral Ombre bow, and it was complete!
