Welcome to another edition of the Stamp Review Crew blog hop! The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month. For this hop we are using Wood Words, which appeals to me on so many levels! Mostly because I love the rustic, country theme, but my project today is more feminine!
You may have hopped here from Linda Callahan's Stampin' Seasons blog, or maybe you started here. Either way, I'm sure you know the routine by now - just click the links at the end of each blog post to go on to the next stop on the hop!
Today's card was inspired by my need to have lots of Thank You cards on hand, especially with the holidays coming. I wanted to do something a little different, and this was the result! I just tried the Faux Sealing Wax technique, and LOVE how it turned out. Apparently this technique has been around for a few years, but I just discovered it. (I guess I've been living under a rock all this time, LOL!)
The floral stamp image was colored with Marina Mist, Old Olive, and Night of Navy Stampin' Write Markers. It was rather time-consuming, so I will not be making multiples of this card.
After embossing the card front with the Quilt Top folder, I trimmed off 1" from the bottom so the liner could show. The bottom edge of the liner was stamped in Night of Navy, then a strip of gold Washi tape was added, just below the top flap, to dress it up a bit.
The flap of the envelope was stamped the same, with some Washi also added. I think it's a nice little preview of what will be inside!
That's my project for today. Up next is the talented Lou Kitzelman, over at With a Bow on Top by Lou! Be sure to check out what she has for you!
