Twelve Days of Christmas TAGS, Day 9

Here we are already on Day 9 of the Twelve Days! It is scary how fast the days are zipping by, isn't it? Seriously!

For the ninth tag, I used Merry Little Labels again, and combined the coordinating punch with the Lots of Labels Framelits dies. They work so well together! The greeting was stamped twice (Real Red & Old Olive), then the red tag was split and adhered over the olive tag.

The Corrugated Paper (retired) is light enough that it cuts easily with the die. I did shorten it a bit by putting it through the Big Shot a second time, trimming about 1/4" off. That made it fit better behind the Merry Little Christmas DSP layer. The rustic feel was livened up a bit with the Year of Cheer Embellishment trinket.

Twelve Days of Christmas TAGS, Day 8

As soon as I saw this little boy with the drums, two thoughts crossed my mind. First, of course, was the the song Little Drummer Boy which immediately got stuck in my head. Pa rum pum pum pum.

My next thought was, those poor parents having to listen to that racket! This is one of those toys you give to the kids of someone you don't like very much, right? But *I* would never do such a thing.

Speaking of Little Drummer Boy, this is one of my all time favorite versions. Enjoy!

Twelve Days of Christmas TAGS, Day 7

I am totally smitten with these adorable mittens! And mittens are going to be a necessary article of clothing now because the weather is headed for a COLD spell here.... I mean, like into the teens at night! (All right, I can hear my Canadian friends snickering, but for us southerners, that's COLD!)

This mitten tag won't keep my hands warm, but I think it will warm the heart of the recipient! And it was so stinkin' easy to make, too!

I started with a folded piece of regular Whisper White cardstock and lined up the mitten die so the outer edge was just barely outside the fold. When I ran it through the Big Shot I did the outer mitten with the Red Glimmer paper at the same time. Two dies cuts in one pass! Then it was simply a matter of gluing the outer mitten on the Whisper White, stamping the inside, and adding the Tinsel Trim to hang it.

Stay warm, my friends! Can you believe Christmas is less than three weeks away?!

Twelve Days of Christmas TAGS, Day 6

Shhhhh, don't tell anyone, but this is a SOB (Some Other Brand) stamped tag. I have to admit, sometimes I do use products that aren't Stampin' Up! but 99.9 percent of the time I stay true to my roots. But what would you do if your BFF sent you an adorable non-SU stamp set? Just let it languish on the shelf? Of course not!

So while the cardstock, glimmer paper, ink and markers ARE Stampin' Up! brand, the Winter Time Fun stamp set if from Hero Arts. And it really is cute!

I stamped the tree in Pear Pizzazz and colored with the Old Olive Light Stampin' Blends marker. The cardinal was stamped in black and colored with the Cherry Cobbler Light Stampin' Blends marker. The greeting was stamped in Real Red.

Some glimmer paper "snow", red ornaments, and a red Tinsel Trim hanger completed the tag.
