Stamp Review Crew - Trees for Sale

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Trees for Sale bonus hop! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday, which there IS this month. Trees for Sale is a 17 piece photopolymer stamp set on page 39 of the Jul-Dec catalog. It HAD a coordinating Sale-A-Bration die set called Tree Lot Dies. Unfortunately, after I had made my projects for this hop the die set sold out. So there's a cautionary tale there - when SAB rolls around, if you see something you really want, don't wait until the last minute to get it, thinking it will still be available! Also, check back later this week for another idea with this set that doesn't use the dies, and a giveaway!

For my first card, I just had to use that adorably happy dog. My dogs love, love, LOVE the snow and race around like their tails are on fire. It's a hoot watching them, so I needed this little guy to have some snow to romp in.

The Basic Borders die set has a die that can be used as clouds, or in this case, snow drifts. The dog stamp is a solid stamp with no features, so after stamping him in Crumb Cake, I added an eye and nose with a Black Stampin' Write Marker.

The trees were stamped in Evening Evergreen and stamped off again for the lighter background trees. The Granny Apple Green DSP (Celebrate Everything) was stamped with a scattering of Soft Succulent snowflakes, and the label is part of the Labels Aglow Dies. Oh, and I almost forgot the silver baubles on the tree - Festive Pearls!

Up next is a Tahitian Tide watercolor wash backdrop for the strings of lights and the trees. The Stitched With Whimsy dies add a little framed texture. I used Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper for the trees as well, stamping first in Evening Evergreen, then using a Water Painter to pull the color down and out to resemble pine boughs.

The light strings were stamped in Smoky Slate and colored with Blends, and the greeting was heat embossed on Tahitian Tide.

If you look closely, you can see some shimmer to the little die cut stars. They were cut from Pearlescent Specialty Paper. I would have used glimmer paper, but the embossed bit in the middle didn't show as well.
