The Stamp Review Crew - Beauty Abounds

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2019/04/ba.html

Welcome to the third Monday of the month and another Stamp Review Crew blog hop! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. Today we are featuring the Beauty Abounds cling stamp set, and the coordinating Butterfly Beauty dies. I just got home from OnStage in Charlotte, NC where we got a copy of the new catalog. I'm so happy to see it is carrying over to the annual catalog.... the dies will be a slightly different style, but they will cut the same beautiful butterflies!

You may have just landed here from Stesha's blog, Stampin' Hoot. Weren't her projects gorgeous?! If you started here, just follow the links at the bottom to hop forward to the next or back to the previous stop.

Just when I think I've seen everything, and know the catalog backward and forward, along comes something I hadn't noticed.....the Memories & More cards and envelopes. How did I not see this before??? I love the larger cards & envelops, because sometimes I just don't feel like making an A2 size card. These are 4-1/4" x 6-1/4", an extra 3/4" in length; long enough to tuck money in a birthday card without having to fold it.

I wanted to try some simple stamping on this first card, and I almost made it. Simple stamping is just cardstock, stamps, and ink - no die cut, embossing, or embellishments. I nailed it until I added the sequins, LOL. It was so easy to add a little color to the image with the bokeh stamps. And I hadn't really noticed the spatter stamp until today, so I stamp it along the bottom.

For the next card, I went all out with embossing (both heat and dry), and embellishments! After stamping the spatters randomly with VersaMark, I heat embossed in gold. The Blackberry Bliss die cut butterflies were trimmed down to fit the landscape-oriented card base, and then dry embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.

I colored some rhinestones with a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends marker for a little bling on the butterfly's wing.

I hope you'll take a look at those bigger card bases and envelopes on page 194 of the annual catalog! That's it for me today. I'm off to spend some quality time with the new catalog!!! Up next is Lauren at Crafty Little Peach.
