Welcome back to the Stamp Review Crew's latest hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who get together on the first and third Monday of the month to inspire you by picking one stamp set (or bundle) and showing many ways to use it! Today we are focusing on another one of my favorite stamp sets in the holiday catalog, Dashing Deer. It's a nine piece red rubber stamp set (wood- or clear-mount) that coordinates with the thirteen piece Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies. Of course, they are available as a bundle with a 10% discount!
Lauren Alarid was just before me, so you may have landed here from her blog, the Crafty Little Peach. You can follow the links to see what everyone has done, or click the banner above to see the whole blog roll.
I got on a black & white and gold kick today. I love the stark elegance of that combination, and started by stamping the large deer in Jet Black StazOn on a gold foil sheet. The Stamparatus helped tremendously, because my first stamping didn't quite get the coverage I needed, AND I knew I could stamp again in exactly the same place!
It's so hard to get a good photo when it's a dreary, cloudy day but I did the best that I could. The detail in this stamp is just amazing! The front of the card base and the white background behind the deer were both embossed with the Subtle Dynamic embossing folder. Again, poor lighting and hard to see - sorry!
My next card uses the same die cut without the stamping. I added the swirly corners and heat embossed the greeting in gold on Basic Black. The Subtle Dynamic folder made an appearance here, too, on the black background.

The deer was popped up on little pieces of dimensionals. (I save the edges for just these occasions.) Those Gold Foil-edged Cards (w/matching envelopes) saved me from having to do more layers!
Next up is the always awesome Mike Funke over at Stampin' Style. I just love his "thinking outside the box" style!
