Lovely Friends Sneak Peek

Large greetings are really trendy right now, and the new Lovely Friends stamp set is tres chic! I love the greetings and ways that they can be combined. For this project I kept it simple, choosing to show off the gold patterned paper in Eastern Palace Specialty DSP (available in the Early Release bundles). The greeting is heat embossed in gold, then adhered to the Fresh Fig mat. These colors look so rich together!

I wanted to add some flowers, but had a tough time deciding which ones I liked the best, size-wise. I finally settled on the three smaller blossoms in Falling Flowers, because the May Flowers Framelits that match meant I didn't have to fussy-cut them. Yes, sometimes I'm lazy like that!

I had a gold die cut from the Flourish Thinlits in my bits box, which added an extra touch of shine. That box really is pretty useful sometimes!

The flowers were stamped in Fresh Fig on Whisper White cardstock, then I used a Blender Pen to pull some of the color into the image.

The two larger blossoms were popped up on dimensionals, and some Pearls Basic Jewels were added to the flower centers. Made for a quick and easy card!

A Note for You

I've been so wrapped up in playing with the awesome Eastern Medallions dies, that I haven't paid too much attention to the Eastern Beauty stamp set that coordinates. For instance, I hadn't really noticed the little curved greetings. (Guess I need stronger glasses!)

Well, in my defense, they are kind of subtle. And I like the subtlety of them - they don't detract from the image at all. There are so many other cute little elements in that stamp set, too, which make the design possibilities nearly endless.

This is everything you get in the early release Starter Bundle:

And this is everything in the Premiere Bundle:

A small part of my rather large (*ahem*) wish list from the new catalog arrives tomorrow, yippee! Stay tuned for more fun projects coming soon. Gotta love those preorders!

Speaking of preorder - did you know you can choose preorder items for your Stampin' Up! Starter Kit? It's true! You get $125 in products of your choice for only $99, with FREE shipping! Plus, you will get a minimum of 20% off all your future orders, as long as you are active. Trust me, it's an awesome deal, and if you decide you don't want to stay active, there is absolutely no further obligation of any kind.

Eastern Palace Early Release!

The customer preorder period starts TODAY!
Smiley from Millan.Net
There are two exclusive early release bundles that won't be available in these bundle configurations after the catalog goes live on June 1st. You will still be able to order the Eastern Beauty stamp set and Eastern Medallion dies separately or as a bundle, but all the other items will become a la carte. (And no free Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock or free Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes!) If you click on the bundle pictures below, you will see what is included in each bundle.

Today's card features products from the Premier bundle, as well as a retiring embossing folder. I sometimes like to use lots of layers on my cards and this one has SEVEN, counting the card base!

The Gold Foil Sheet medallions look so rich on the Very Vanilla cardstock, don't you think? I though the background needed some texture, so I used the Boho Chic embossing folder, which is marked own 30% right now, because it is retiring.

When I ordered the Premier bundle, I wasn't sure how I would use the tassels. Since then I've seen some lovely cards on Pinterest that use them, so I just went for it! I think the pop of Fresh Fig in the greeting and the tassels add some extra interest.
