The Stamp Review Crew - Dressed to Impress

Dressed to Impress, SRC - Dressed to Impress, 2020 Jan-June Mini Catalog, Stampin' Up!

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Dressed to Impress edition! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Jay Soriano's blog, Mitosu Crafts, welcome! There are seven of us today, so follow the links for more inspiration.

Are you a girly girl? Does your heart go pitter-pat when you see new shoes, purses, or make up? Then this Dressed to Impress stamp set and the matching All Dressed Up Dies will be right up your alley! I have to admit I'm not much of a girly girl....I don't even like shopping. (I know, I'll turn in my girl card now.) But I do like this set - especially some of the sentiments, so I borrowed it from my very generous stampin' sister (thanks, Sherry!) and went to work getting creative. I only managed to get two cards finished before I had to stop and do some adulting. Why does reality have to get in the way of crafting?!

The first card features my favorite DSP, called Best Dressed, and that is part of this suite. I positively adore the florals on the one side of the paper, and the shoes, purses, perfume bottles and make-up on the other side are cute, too. But oh, those flowers!

I know the red color in the DSP is Lovely Lipstick, but I wanted something even bolder to go along with the sentiment, so I chose Cherry Cobbler for the lipstick. It worked beautifully! A little Clear Wink of Stella made the lipstick look frosted. There are a couple of Early Release sneak peeks, too, because I can't stop playing with the upcoming Ornate Layers Dies, and the Gilded Gems that are part of that suite are awesome, too.

This next card went in the opposite direction - from bold and sassy to soft and subtle. Picking colors from the DSP makes coordinating the colors so easy! I used this week's sketch #426 from Freshly Made Sketches as a starting point. The lovely Purple Posy, Mint Macaron, and Daffodil Delight in the DSP remind me so much of Spring, so I just had to add a Mint Macaron Flower Faceted Gem for a little spring-y bling!

I colored the large stamped perfume bottle with Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends, and then fussy cut the two smaller bottles from the DSP.

That's all for today, friends! Up next is Linda Callahan, at Stampin' Seasons. I love her CAS style!
