It's the fifth Monday of the month and that means a bonus hop from the Stamp Review Crew! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Stesha's blog, The Stampin' Hoot, welcome!
Today we are featuring Sailing Home, part of the Come Sail Away Suite. It's a truly wonderful collection with a nautical theme, and includes trinkets, baker's twine, and an embossing folder to complement the stamps, dies, and Designer Series Paper.
I used a little of it all on this card! I started by embossing Vellum Cardstock with the High Seas 3D folder and adhering it to the Balmy Blue card base. A 2" x 5" strip of DSP was matted on Whisper White. The 3" x 3" striped DSP was matted on Night of Navy and then on Whisper White. Both were then adhered to the vellum, covering the adhesive that showed.
The seaweed was cut in Whisper White and adhered to the card at the base, leaving the fronds free. Two sailboats were stamped in Night of Navy and die cut, along with the greeting. One boat was glued down over the tip of the seaweed, and the other was popped up on dimensionals.
The anchor trinket was threaded with the baker's twine and held in place with glue dots. Then the greeting was added. Inside the card was dressed up with a strip of DSP and some stamped off images. (Don't throw away your DSP scraps; they can be put to use!)
I even stamped the front of the envelope, because just decorating the flap with DSP wasn't enough, LOL!
Next on the hop is Jay, at Mitosu Crafts. I really like his outside the box thinking!
