So Shelli Challenge "Bring on Spring!"

Shelli Gardner, one of the founders of Stampin' Up! is just about fed up with winter, and I don't blame her!  So her challenge this month is "Bring on Spring".  She's ready to see some bright spring colors, whether it be a card, tag, scrapbook page, or gift.

So, here is my humble entry.  When I think Spring, I think flowers and butterflies, so I went straight for the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, both of which are in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  Actually, if you look closely, you can see I used two other flower punches, as well.....the 5-Petal Flower and the Trio Flower. :-)

I spattered Orchid Opulence ink on the Orchid Opulence paper using the Color Spritzer Tool, and drew in some veins with the same color Stampin' Write Marker.  The edges of the petals were distressed and curled back a bit.  The stem and leaves were punched from the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch using the birds' wing for the leaves.  Then I inked the leaf edges using Old Olive, and creased the vein with a stylus.
Anyone who has ever caught a butterfly knows about the shimmery dust on a butterfly's wings.  I tried to mimic that look by spritzing the butterflies with Frost White shimmer mist.  It probably doesn't show very well in the photo, but trust me, it shimmers!
