CSF Saturday Hop - Pop-Up Surprise

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is Pop-up cards. It was fun making this one. I'm not sure what to call it....it's kind of like scissors where the top and bottom panel pop up from one side and the middle panel pops up the opposite way.

I built the cake stand and birthday greeting on the bottom panel, then two layers of cake on the center panel, and topped it off with another cake layer and the candles.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF831

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge is a sketch. The large center panel is perfect for a large image (like the Stippled Roses used here), or to show off some Designer Series Paper. Here is the sketch:

The roses were colored with Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Blends, then die cut with a Countryside Corners die. The So Swirly embossing folder was used on the Old Olive background for a little added texture.

I borrowed a sentiment from Spotlight on Nature and fussy cut it. And, of course, I added a little extra shine with a strip of glimmer paper, and rhinestones that were colored with the dark Old Olive Stampin' Blend.

CSF Saturday Hop - Latch Cards

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is one of my favorite fun folds - Latch Cards! For this project I made a gate fold latch card using the Labeled With Love stamp set and the bright and colorful Full of Life DSP. It was so easy to pick colors from the designer paper to accent the card.

I started with 5 1/2" x 6 1/2" Basic White Thick cardstock, scored at 4 1/4" to form an A2 card base. The latch flap is BWT cardstock 3 1/4" x 3 1/2", scored at 2 3/4" which leaves a 1/2" flap to adhere. Fold on the scoreline and adhere to the right side of the card base. Cut DSP 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere inside covering the adhered part of the flap.

Use the leftover 2" DSP strip (cut to 5 1/4" length) for the outer flap. Emboss a 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" piece of cardstock and adhere to the gate flap. Cut white cardstock with the largest and second largest Nested Essentials rounded rectangles. Adhere the larger one inside the card, hidden under the gate flap.

Decorate the other piece as desired and adhere to the left card front with dimensionals, making sure to leave room for the gate to latch under it.
