CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Casing Debbie Henderson

Today's Featured Designer CASE is Debbie Henderson! This is Debbie's gorgeous card that I CASEd.

I'm starting to feel a tiny bit of Autumn in the air these days ... just beginning to see the signs, like the Goldenrod is starting to bloom and the leaves on the trees are getting more of an Old Olive cast to them. Here is my take on Debbie's card - I reversed the angle (due to the die) and used a Tailored Tag behind the image instead of the scalloped rectangle she used.

I hadn't played with the Fond of Autumn bundle yet, so this presented the perfect opportunity! I still used the colors Debbie used because they are perfect for a Fall-themed card. After stamping the image in Early Espresso, I used Watercolor Pencils to add the color. I haven't played with them in a long time and forgot how much fun they are!

Were you aware that the Autumn Bouquet Dies can cut out the entire image, or cut the image elements apart? I wasn't at first, but as soon as I saw the versatility of the dies, I had to order the bundle! Here is what I mean. The oak leaves and acorns were used on the card, which leaves me other lovely elements to color and use on a different card!

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Casing Mary Brown

For the next seven weeks the Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme will be "Casing the Designer" and we each will get a turn! We get to pick a card of theirs and, using the same colors and layout, recreate it using new Jul-Dec stamp sets. How fun is that?! This week Mary Brown is the featured designer and here is the card I created using her card (second pic) as my inspiration.

I used the colors she used, Soft Sea Foam, Real Red, and Garden Green to stamp the SAB gold striped DSP. Instead of the ribbon, I added a strip of the gold glimmer paper. A few stamped and die cut sprigs and poinsettias, a couple of gold pearls, and it was done!

Stamp Review Crew - Second Sale-a-Bration

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Second Sale-a-Bration edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Nikki's blog, welcome! There are eight of us today, so it's going to be fun to see the variety for second Sale-a-Bration.

I chose the beautiful Wonderful World bundle, which is the five piece cling stamp set bundled with the gorgeous Wonderful World DSP. I paired it with the Very best Occasions greeting set in the annual catalog.

For the first card, I focused on the DSP by fussy cutting one of the flower images and popping it up over a Fabulous Frames die cut.

The background DSP is from the same pack. I loved the cheerful pop of yellow!

The second card is a CAS one that I just could not get to photograph well. Trust me, it's much prettier in real life! After stamping the rose (inked with sponge daubers using Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz) I stamped the Happy Birthday in Mossy Meadow.

The image was die cut with a Deckled Rectangles die. Some gold cord was wrapped and a bow added, along with gold pearls from Festive Pearls.

It was then popped up over a Stitched Greenery background. Okay, the power keeps going out (thunderstorm), so I'm ending this now!
