CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Hello Sale-A-Bration!

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Hop theme is SALE-A-BRATION!!! With the exception of the cardstock, ink, and dies, everything on this card is from the SAB brochure, which is fabulous this year. There's something for everyone - the flower lovers, bird lovers, romantics, animal lovers, kids, men, and DSP and embellishment fanatics!

I used the Softly Sophisticated bundle found on page 14. What I really like about it is how quickly I can produce a card. I love coloring, but it is time-consuming, and sometime I need something quick and easy. These two-step stamps are just "stamp and go". Choose your ink colors, stamp the stems, stamp the flowers, and DONE!

Also used on the card is the Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon found on page 6 and Opaque Faceted Gems on page 9. (Those sweet postage stamp dies are from Perennial Postage which is in the Jan-Apr mini.)

Thursday Challenge - Sketch CCMC799

Welcome to the first Thursday challenge of the New Year, AND the start of the 2024 Jan-Apr mini catalog and Sale-A-Bration! WOOHOO! So much excitement to start the year off right. 😊

Today's challenge is a sketch, and I have to admit my OCD made my eye twitch with this off center layout, lol. But I dove right into it using the new Blueberry Bunches set and I think it turned out okay.

I stamped a bunch of the berries on scraps to try our different blues on them. I wanted to see which looked the most like the blueberries from my garden. And would you believe it, Orchid Oasis was the closest! Whoda thunk?! I would have guessed Blueberry Bushel, but nope.

After cutting the colored image out with the Radiating Stitches die, I realized I needed more white space above the image to follow the sketch, so I die cut a sort piece and adhered it at the top. The Granny Apple Green strip conveniently covers it. *wink*

Stamp Review Crew - Snow Crystal

HAPPY NEW YEAR and welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's SNOW CRYSTAL edition! We're happy to see you for the very first Stamp Review Crew hop of 2024! If you landed here from Debra's blog, Heartfelt Inkspiration, welcome! There are four of us today, so the hop shouldn't take long.

Snow Crystal is one of the Stampin' Up! cling background stamps, and pairs well with other sentiment or image stamps. Since Christmas has just passed, I'm going with a winter and New Year's theme today. First up....the new year!

Snow Crystal was stamped on a Crumb Cake background using White Craft ink and then heat embossed in white.

The greeting (Year to Celebrate) was heat embossed in black on vellum cardstock, and the numbers were cut from More Dazzle Specialty Paper, then glued to the vellum. On the back side of the vellum, I carefully added thin lines of liquid glue behind the greeting and numbers to adhere it to the card without any adhesive showing. That whole panel was then popped up on dimensionals to the Crumb Cake card base.

The winter card started with Snow Crystal stamped in Balmy Blue (stamped off once) on a Basic White panel, then embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D folder. It was then adhered to the card base with Stampin' Seal.

The label behind the greeting was stamped (Sparkling Snowflakes) in Balmy Blue stamped off twice. It was cut with a Thoughtful Expressions (coming soon!) die, and snowflakes (from Chic Dies) were cut from vellum and Holographic Trio Specialty Paper and adhered to the back.

The label was popped up on the card and the greeting was stamped and fussy cut before being popped up on the label.
