Beauty Abounds in Our Friendship!

I'm feeling Spring-y, how about you? While I had the Beauty Abounds stamp set out last weekend I put together another card, this time with some fresh Spring colors!

The large and small bubble clusters (for lack of a better description) in this stamp set makes custom backgrounds so easy! I used Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Highland Heather stamped randomly on a piece of cardstock.

The floral swirl was stamped in Mossy Meadow, then the leaves were colored with the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends and the blossoms with Light Calypso Coral. The greeting was also stamped in Mossy Meadow and after die cutting, it was adhered to a So Saffron piece punched with the Story Label Punch. A piece of Whisper White Flax and Gorgeous Grape Striped Mini Ribbon completed the card.

I don't know if you are aware of the fine print on the back of the Stampin' Up! catalogs that says "Product availability may be limited toward the end of the catalog sales period." While the stamps and ink pads are manufactured here in the United States by Stampin' Up! many, if not most, of the other products are imported. This can create supply issues, especially when items are much more popular than they were forecast to be. Some of the Sale-a-Bration freebies are sold out, as well as some of the SAB Coordination items, and already some things in the Occasions catalog!

To make a long story short (I know...too late!), if there is something you really want when a new seasonal catalog or SAB flyer comes out, don't wait and figure you'll save it for later. It may not be available when you want it.

Circle of Thanks in Monochrome

Heart's Delight Cards, Beauty Abounds, Thank you card, Occasions 2019, Stampin' Up!

We used the Beauty Abounds stamp set in last Saturday's stamp club and after everyone was gone, and I had (most of) the mess put away, I had a sudden spark of inspiration.....which has sadly been lacking lately. I don't know what's going on - late winter blues maybe? Anyhoooo.....

After masking half the Whisper White cardstock strip with a sticky note, I stamped the floral swirl on half, then rotated it and did the same on the other half. The background was then colored with a Dark Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends marker leaving the blossoms, leaves, and swirls uncolored. White dots were added to the background with a Stampin' Blends Color Lifter, randomly letting the bullet point remove the color. I like the spattered effect! Click on the pic for a close-up view.

After matting the colored image on Tranquil Tide, it was loosely adhered to the Subtle Dynamic TIEF embossed background while I fiddled with where I wanted the greeting. Originally, all there was on the card was the colored panel, greeting, and the butterfly (to cover the "seam" where the two stamped swirls joined). But those two circles looked so lonely, they needed some friends to balance each other. I just happened to have the white Stitched Labels circle already sitting on my work table, and a small scrap of Mint Macaron already embossed, ready to be punched. Voila!

By the way, Tranquil Tide is one of the In Colors that will be retiring in a couple months. It coordinates so beautifully with Mint Macaron, don't you think? If you have the ink pad, I really hope you also have the ink refill. The In Colors always sell out before the annual catalog ends!

The Stamp Review Crew - Amazing Life

Welcome to the Amazing Life edition of the Stamp Review Crew! This time we are focusing on the very versatile Amazing Life photopolymer stamp set, which is also available as a bundle with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. You may have landed here from The Rubber Redneck, but if you're starting with me, just follow the links to take the whole tour - there are ten of us this time.

There are lots of fun greetings and elements in the seventeen piece stamp set, but with St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, I felt drawn to the shamrock.

To make the background, the shamrock was randomly stamped in Soft Sea Foam, the filled in with Clear Wink of Stella. The band behind the greeting was stamped in Call Me Clover on Soft Sea Foam cardstock and also filled in with WOS. The fussy-cut shamrock next to the greeting was stamped in black, colored with Dark Call Me Clover Blends, and also glittered up with WOS.

The next card uses the cake and cute greeting. For this one, I also used some of the Sale-a-Bration Botanical Butterfly DSP. I love the black & white sheets, and the Highland Heather floral pattern was perfect as an accent behind the cake.

Some rhinestones were colored with the dark Highland Heather Blends marker to add a little bling, and a Candle Embellishment was added as the perfect cake topper!

That's all for me today. I'm still really off my game after being so very sick last week. Still not feeling 100%, but at least I was able to get these cards made! Up next is Jenny Hall!
