CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Embossing Folder Technique

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is techniques using embossing folders. I think a really fun technique that has a wow factor is embossing two tone cardstock, and sanding it to reveal the white core, which is what I did for this card.

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Crumb Cake Two Tone Cardstock was first die cut with a Stylish Shapes circle, then embossed with the Dotted Circles folder and sanded lightly with a sanding block. It was matted on 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White and adhered to the Crumb Cake card base.

Then I got to work stamping and die cutting all the Impressions Abloom flowers (with Drusy embellishments added to the small ones) and leaves, and arranging and rearranging them until I was satisfied. The greeting was stamped in Berry Burst.

Thursday Challenge - CSF866

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge are the colors Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, and Summer Splash and they couldn't get more summer-y!

They felt so tropical that I just had to make a beach themed card. The new Notes & Totes bundle in the upcoming 2025-2026 annual catalog has the perfect elements to make a beachy card or cute 3D tote to slip a little gift into!

The hibiscus stamp was colored with Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Write markers and stamped randomly on Basic White. The splashes were stamped with Summer Splash and then the tote was cut with the die. The pocket and straps were cut from Summer Splash and adhered with Tombo multi glue.

Aren't the heart sunglasses adorable? Basic Black and Melon Mambo scraps were used to cut it, and Melon Mambo was also used for the scarf  "tied" on. The suntan lotion bottle was a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist and I inked just part of one of the greetings for the label. I can't put a link to the bundle yet, since it's not live, but here's the stamp set:

CSF Saturday Blog Hop - One Layer Cards

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is one layer cards. There were lots of ways to go with this theme, like creating a faux DSP background, but I went with CAS because that was more of a challenge to me. You know I love layers and textures and embellishments, definitely not a single layer!

I used a piece of scrap paper to make the mask using a Perennial Postage die, and blended Azure Afternoon onto the card base. Before removing the mask, I carefully traced around it with a pencil to give it more of a 3D look.

The balloons were stamped and colored with watercolor pencils, because Stampin' Blends would have bled through to the inside. Then I spattered Wink of Stella over it before removing the mask. I was afraid using embellishments would be cheating, lol.

The corner daisies are one of the dies in the Spring Corners bundle. I like that they added a little texture without adding any layers. All that was needed at that point was the birthday greeting, and the card was complete!
