CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Christmas Trees/Branches

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is Christmas trees or branches. Since I still had the Delicate Pines set out from the Thursday Challenge, I got to work creating a Christmas tree branch using the pine branch image.

It was stamped several times using Shaded Spruce on Basic White. A couple of Pecan Pie pine cones were added, then all I had to do was "decorate" it with Delightful Decorative Dots and Gold Shaker Stars! Super simple and fun.

The image was then matted on Shaded Spruce and popped up on dimensionals. The Shaded Spruce greeting is also popped up.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF895

The Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge is a sketch this week:

I substituted the snowflake from Delicate Pines for the circle but everything else is the same. The snowflake is stamped with Lost Lagoon (largest and smallest flakes), Pool Party (second largest), and Shy Shamrock (second smallest).

The Pool Party pattern in the DSP looked reminiscent of falling snow, so I thought it would be a great background. We got our first snow this week, and it was perfect.... a couple inches to enjoy for a day, then gone the next. I like it when the snow doesn't overstay its welcome, lol. 😊⛄

Measurements
  • Card base: Basic White 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored/folded at 4-1/4"
  • First layer: Lost Lagoon 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"
  • Second layer: DSP 3-3/8" x 4"
  • Greeting: Basic White 5/8" x 3-5/8"

CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Holiday Baking

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is Holiday Baking. We are headed into the Thanksgiving baking scene, followed immediately by Christmas goodies. I've had pumpkin pie on my mind a lot this week.....probably because we got one from Costco, haha.

My hubby loves his pie buried under a mountain of whipped cream. We have a tradition when serving pie after supper. We ask, "Sliver, slice, or slab?" Since there are usually more than one pie to sample, I usually go for a sliver of each. 😉

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori de Groot at Loritamarie Crafts.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF894

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge are the colors Cloud Cover, Misty Moonlight, and Pecan Pie:

These are great colors for a neutral or masculine card, and since we've officially hit sweater weather here, I thought a sweater card would be perfect. The Stay Warm stamp set doesn't have any sentiments in it, so I borrowed an appropriate greeting from Snowy Delights.

I stamped the sweater outline in Misty Moonlight, cleaned the stamp, then flipped it over to use as a filler stamp using Cloud Cover. Note: Cloud Cover is not available in the Classic Stampin' Pad due to quality issues, but you can make own pad using the ink refill and an uninked Stampin' Spot.

The sweater was fussy cut (easy peasy!) and popped up on the white embossed background. Cloud Cover ribbon was adhered to the back and it was then adhered to a Cloud Cover mat (also popped up).

Measurements
  • Card base: Misty Moonlight 4-1/4" x 11", scored/folded at 5-1/2"
  • First layer: Basic White 3-13/16" x 5-1/16"
  • Second layer: Pecan Pie Neutrals DSP 3-11/16" x 4-15/16"
  • Embossed background: Basic White 2-3/4" x 3-1/4"
  • Mat: Cloud Cover 2-15/15" x 3-7/16"
