Stamp Review Crew - Gentle Waves

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Gentle Waves edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Holly's blog, welcome! There are only four of us today, so it will be a quickie hop.

I have to admit, I was stumped about what to do with this background stamp. The obvious choice was the sailboat on the water, but I wanted to do something a little different. Turned sideways it reminds me of the bark on a tree with light and shadow.

So for an extra twist, I made the tree Flirty Flamingo with gold leaves. That's different enough, right? 😁

My next card is a little more in keeping with the gentle waves theme. I inked it with sponge daubers using Mint Macaron, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point.

After adding the palm trees I thought some Matte Black Dot "coconuts" would be cute. They're kind of hard to see, but they are cute.

Just a reminder that Gentle Waves is retiring when the Jan-Jun mini ends on June 30. And the Stitched So Sweetly Dies retire May 2 when the current annual catalog ends.

That's all I have to share for today, so click "Next" to see what Betty at Kitty Stamp created, or "Previous" to see Holly again!
