CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Fave New Sale-A-Bration Set!

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is our favorite new Sale-A-Bration stamp set. This was a no-brainer for me....I LOVE the Beautifully Happy stamp set! You can stamp and then use the filler stamp to quickly add color, or color the image with Stampin' Blends, Watercolor Pencils, Blending Brushes, or Sponge Daubers.

I used a combination of Light Mossy Meadow and Dark Shaded Spruce to get a Garden Green-like shade for the large leaves to match the mat and card base. I think it turned out fairly well, since we don't have Garden Green Blends. (WHY don't we, Stampin' Up!?) 

I was going to use some gorgeous SAB Designer Paper for the background, but since so much of it would be covered by the double-matted image, I decided to just stamp my own with the bee and single floral stamp using Fresh Freesia stamped off. That way I'm not wasting the pretty papers!

Stamp Review Crew - Go To Greetings

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Go To Greetings edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Mike's Stampin-Style blog, welcome! There are five of us today, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the crew did with this set - so many possibilities!

Go To Greetings is just exactly what its name implies - an assortment of greetings in a delicious variety of fonts. It's a thirteen piece cling (rubber) set. Somehow I missed this the first couple of times going through the annual catalog, but once it was on my radar, I had to have it. I especially love the large formal scripty greetings. This set will coordinate well with any other stamp set, or even just DSP and dies! Today I'm pairing it with new products from the Jan-Apr mini catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure.

And DSP and dies is what I used for the first card! I fell in love with the Dainty Flowers DSP in the SAB brochure as soon as I saw it, and I love that it coordinates with the Dainty Delight bundle in the Jan-Apr mini catalog. (The J-A mini and SAB both start Thursday Jan 5.)

That scripty font pairs so beautifully with the feminine floral images in the DSP. I fussy cut the floral oval image and popped it up over the Fresh Freesia dots. Just a little die cut flower and leaves, some silver cord trim, and the greeting punched with the Happy Labels Pick a Punch completed the card.

The second card is also a more feminine one and this time I used products from the Regency Park Suite - The Petal Park bundle, Textured Shimmer Paper, and the Regency Park 6" x 6" DSP. Oh, be still my heart! The colors in this suite just sing to me!

I started by stamping a 3" x 4-1/2" piece of Basic White with the leaf outline stamp using Shaded Spruce. Then I lightly inked up the leaf filler stamp using a sponge dauber. I can control the depth of color this way, so I was able to achieve a lighter shade for the filler. I did the same with the Mango Melody tiny flowers, and used Night of Navy and Balmy Blue for the punched blossoms.

The Basic White scrolled Fancy Frames die-cut fit perfectly over the image. It was then popped up on dimensionals over the DSP and Textured Shimmer background. I fussy cut the greeting and added a few Iridescent Pearls to finish the card.
